I'm at the marine park with Cleo and Emma when Lewis and Roman run over yelling "Guys! Wait up!" they catch up and Lewis says "Hey guys, what would be the most important scientific discovery of the year?" Emma says "Somewhere to hold our school dance." Lewis says "Incorrect." Cleo says "Correct. The Marine Park double-booked the function hall we hired, and now we don't have a venue for the dance." we all start to walk "Relax, someone else will look after it." Emma says "That someone else is us." Roman asks "Really? Madi?" I say "I owed Emma a favor." Roman says "That makes more sense." Emma continues "I'm the chairperson of the organizing committee." Lewis says "Well, Roman and I are working on a scientific way that will make it easier for you guys to be mermaids." Emma asks ignoring Lewis "Maybe we could have a street party? we could cordon off the roads around the school and have the dance in the streets. I'll call the council." I say "Emma, you need permission from the city." Emma says "I'm losing it, aren't I?" she shuts her phone and Lewis asks "How about the cafe?" Roman says "Yeah everyone hangs there anyway." Emma says "Brilliant, that's way more intimate than a function room." Cleo adds "And there's still enough room for dancing." Emma says "You guys are genius." I say "I knew there was a reason to keep you two around." Lewis says "And there's the Madi we know and love." my phone buzzes and I say "Anyway, I got to go meet up with Zane. See you guys later." they nod and I take off. I walk by Miss Chatham and say "Hi, Miss Chatham." she says "Hello Madi. keep out of trouble?" I smile and say "Always." and I take off.

I meet up with the girls at the cafe to help convince Wilfred to let us use the cafe as a venue for the party. he did agree as we follow him as he works. he says "You have to promise to stick to one rule. no early finishing. don't want people saying I laid some curfew on you." Emma smiles and says "We can manage that." he says "Good. then go for it." he smiles and walks away. Byron who is sitting at a table says "Cool idea having it here." Emma walks up to him as we smirk at them. Emma says "Yeah, it should make it a lot easier to organize the drinks. and the music and the security, which should free up some time for me to help with the food and the lighting." I facepalm at her. Byron says "That's a lot of organizing." Emma says "Yeah, whatever it takes. I'm going to make sure this is the best dance ever. nothings gonna get in my way. everyone who goes is gonna have the best time." Byron says "Cool." then there is an awkward silence. I whisper "I don't know if I can watch this." Rikki and Cleo nod at me. Emma asks him "So, are you going?" Byron answers "Don't see how I couldn't with all the work you're doing. so, I'll see you there." he gets up and leaves. we walk into the cafe with Emma. Rikki asks "What's wrong with you? why didn't you ask him to the dance?" Emma says "The guy asks the girl. that's how it works." Rikki says "Welcome to the 21st century." Emma says "I don't have time to worry about it anyway. this dance is the last time our whole class is going to be together for the rest of the year." Cleo says "Exactly, the main thing is that we organize a great night for everyone." I groan and say "It's just a party." Rikki says "Lewis hasn't asked you yet either, has he?" Cleo sighs but doesn't answer.
