"WHY DON'T YOU TAKE IT FROM ME, FLASH? TAKE IT." THOSE WERE THE WORDS Alex Matthews heard the next day when she walked into school. After getting a ride from Gwen that morning, she was heading to first period-until she heard his voice.Peter Parker's, to be exact. Alex stuck her head out to peek into the Gym. Flash Thompson was in a basketball jersey and matching shorts, along with his other friends. Then she looked over at Peter, who looked shockingly different. No longer was he wearing his glasses, and he seemed incredibly muscular and toned.
Alex did not believe this was the same Peter she had met just a month ago. "Take it from you?" Flash inquired with a smirk. "I think the last time we went up against each other. You had Gwen save you. Do you want to go at it again?" He taunted.
Alex slipped into the Gym. She surveyed the scene in front of her. She knew Peter couldn't be that stupid. Last time he ended up with a black eye and busted lip. If he kept doing things like this, he would get seriously hurt.
But she couldn't help but admire his bravery in sticking up for others-those who couldn't help themselves. "That's right. Take it from me. Go ahead. Take it." When Flash didn't budge, Peter's grin grew more prominent.
"Okay, how about this?" Alex watched as he closed his eyes, the basketball still in his left hand, and covered his eyes with his other hand. She couldn't help but giggle at Peter as he teased Flash in front of his friends and the people in the Gym.
When Flash reached for the ball to take it, the ball stayed in Peter's hand. It looked like it was glued to his hand, but as Flash tugged on the ball, it still stayed glued in Peter's hand.
The scene made Alex's eyebrows shoot up. That couldn't be normal, could it? "Come on, Flash, Take the ball." One of the boys exclaimed.
Alex watched as Flash did the unthinkable. He turned to walk away, but better have a full-fledged smile as he watched the jock walk away while Alex shook her head.
That's when Peter began to dribble the ball, the sound of it hitting the ground ringing and echoing throughout the Gym. "Alright, bring it! Come on, Parker!" Peter began to run as he dribbled the ball. Alex watched as he picked up enough speed to forcefully push Flash to the ground with a loud thud and leap up in the air.
Alex's mouth was slacked open as she watched Peter dunk the ball into the basket net. As he did some, he completely shattered the backboard of the hoop. The sound of glass cracking and crashing to the ground was the only sound anyway could hear in the Gym.
There were a few collective gasps around the Gym. Peter looked up to see a million tiny glass shards scattered around him. His breathing was loud and erratic as he had just realized what he had done.
When he looked up, he met Alex's eyes. She wore a blank but shocked expression. She looked at him as if she didn't know it was him. He looked at his hands to see that he still had the entire basketball hoop in his hand; Flash looked at him.
