"EXCUSE ME, MISS MATTHEW'S!" ALEX WAS QUICKLY DASHING AWAY FROM Oscorp's security. She figured looking into what happened to Max Dillon wasn't the best idea. But curiosity killed the cat. Alex turned around to see that they were still chasing after her. When she discovered that Oscorp was attempting to cover up what happened after making her way into another part of the building, she turned around quickly. Her adrenaline was pumping, and her heart was pounding harder than before-she could feel it beating against her rib cage.
When she turned around and tripped over her shoe, she waited as she tried as bound to make contact with the ground before feeling a strong arm around her waist. When she looked up to see Peter, she smiled happily and relieved, "Hi!" She smiled, letting out a breath.
"Hi." She murmured, his hands still connected to her waist. The feeling of his hands on her made her stomach flutter. "What...What are you doing here?" The girl stuttered.
Before Peter could explain, she was pulling him into the maintenance closet. She didn't want to be caught with Peter here. Once inside the tight and cramped space, she looked through the little slits of the door seeing as the security guards walked right passed them, "She's not here, sir. She must have slipped out." Peter looked at Alex.
Peter looked at the girl in front of him. He had a sly playful smile on his face, "Alex, you're in trouble." Alex playful scowled at him.
"Shut it, Parker. There was an accident in the genomics lab, and they're covering it up. And I found out. That guy from Times Square last night?" Peter nodded as he listened to her intently.
"I met him. He was an electrical engineer in the building. And he loved Spider-Man, by the way. He was, like, a fanatic." Alex told him sadly Max was a sweet guy. He might have been a bit awkward, but he couldn't hurt anyone, but he almost did last night.
Alex moved a strand of hair from her face, "I didn't get love vibes. I got more of a "want to k*ll me with his electricity" vibe." He whispered-yelled.
Alex shrugged with a big grin. "Hey, at least you know he's not the only one." Over the past few months, Alex had the urge to strangle Peter for his actions.
I searched for him on the computer and all his erased files. My God. He's completely erased. It's terrible. His family must be confused and distraught. Something happened to their son, and they don't even have a clue."
"It isn't right, Alex, but that's Oscorp for you." There was a moment of silence between Peter and Alex. Alex wished he would kiss her to let her know that something was still between them.
"What are you here? Shouldn't you be out saving the day?" She watched as his face morphed into a frown-she could tell he was conflicted. "Harry." He whispered.
"Wait, Osborn? Your childhood buddy?"
Peter closed his eyes as he nodded. "He's dying, And he thinks the only thing that gonna save his life is my blood-Spider-Man's blood." Alex louts out a small gasp. Who knows what could happen if Peter was to give Harry his blood?
"I mean, that could kill him. After all, I don't think you should even be standing before me. That spider bite should have killed you." Peter thought she might have been right. Anything could have happened to him after getting bitten.
"I mean, anything could happen. I want to help him, Alex. I do, but it could kill him."
"Or worse." Peter looked around the small closet. "Alex. This is a maintenance closet. This is the most clichéd hiding place you could've chosen." Alex playful hit his shoulder with a bashful smile.
"Shut up. I'm sorry I didn't take us to the Bahamas of hiding places." Peter looked at her with those baby-brown eyes. Alex felt her knees buckle and her cheeks warm. Gosh, she loved him. She loved him more than she had ever loved anything else. Peter and her parents were the most important thing in her life.
The fact that she was leaving for college seen made her regret the times they spent being mad at each other. "Listen, I gotta talk to you about California...I guess because I don't...." He couldn't bring himself to finish his sentence. Her lips were too tempting.
When he grabbed her and kissed her, the fireworks and butterflies ran wild. Alex was momentarily stunned when he crashed his lips on his they were warm and sweet, and each time he kissed her, it felt like the first time all over again-it was a feeling she could never get used to.
He smelt like Men's aftershave with a hint of cologne. She let her fingers run through his hair hastily. As soon as the kiss started, it ended. She no longer felt his lips moving with hers; she knew her lips were red and swollen.
This kiss reminded her of Fourth of July fireworks. Bright, bold, and captivating.
Alex could hear herself gasping for air when she opened her eyes, she saw Peter smirking, "You...You just kissed." She replied breathlessly.
"How'd you like it?" Peter could tell from her flushed face and wide eyes she more than enjoyed it. "Oh, I'm sure you know how I liked it, Parker. It felt a bit rushed. I would have enjoyed a few seconds more."
"I know, I know. Here's the plan you get to the elevator, and I'll distract them and tell Gwen I said Hey when you see her." Alex nodded firmly before grabbing Peter by his collar and kissing him.
"I love you."
"I love you too. Let's go." The two tried their best to look inconspicuous. Alex dashed to the Elevator while Peter waited for one of the guards. She quickly pushed on the button and watched him.
He slung a web sticking it to a coffee mug before pulling it towards him. Peter was very bold when he 'accidentally' knocked into the man that had been gunning after Alex scorching hot coffee was sprayed all over him.
He let out a painful grunt. She tried her best not to laugh and draw attention to herself. Each one of the security guards went tumbling. Alex giggled to herself as the elevator doors opened before stepping in. Just when she thought she was alone, she heard a voice that nearly scared her half to death.
"Alex Matthew's." Alex shrieked, putting her hand over her chest. She laughed as she shook her head. "Jesus, you scared me."
"Sorry, Sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you. I'm an old friend of Peter's. I'm Harry."
"Yeah, Yeah. I know who you are. Peter talks a lot about you. I was rushing. I'm sorry he never introduced us."
"I, um, thought you two had broken up." Alex watched as he slid closer to her.
Alex swallowed thickly. "Yeah. Yes, we had...And it's, listen, it's complicated."
"I mean, it's Peter. Heh. Everything's always complicated with Peter." She could viably tell that Harry looked sick and tired. "But that's why he needs you. Right? To help him make his choices clear."
Alex could tell what Harry was going. He wanted her to convince Peter to track down Spider-Man for his blood.
"Yeah, it was nice to meet you, Harry. I'll see you around."
"Yes. It was a pleasure, Alex."
