"AT APPROXIMATELY 9 PM LAST NIGHT, AN INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON THE WILLIAMSBURG BRIDE." Alex and her parents listened intently as George Stacy made a statement to the people of New York. After the attack on the bridge last night, the city had been shaken and fearful-nobody knew what was happening or what the thing was. Alex was hoping that Peter was okay. She couldn't lose him.

"Such of what occurred is speculation... at this point. However, several eyewitnesses... to the crime, as well as our preliminary findings, have... positively placed... one individual at the scene. Which is why, this morning, I am issuing a warrant... for the masked vigilante known as Spider-Man."

Alex felt something drop in her stomach, "Serves him right. He had no business trying to take matters into his own hands." Her mother voiced, wiping the counter top but Alex was in her own world.

What would happen if they had found out it was Peter? Would they throw him in jail? Experiment on him? Alex grabbed her bag and rushed out the door.

At school, Peter and Alex were sitting outside near the track and field once again. Alex was looking at a spider in a small jar, the same spider that had bit him, giving him his extraordinary powers.

"It's oddly beautiful. I still hate spiders, though." She spun the glass jar in her hands as she tried to examine every inch of the arachnid before handing the jar back to him. "Sure knows how to bite, though." Alex looked at him.

"Wait, who else knows that this?" She whispered, "Just you." Alex felt the butterflies in her stomach run wild. She never imagined falling for Peter this hard. "Really? Just me?"

Peter nodded before hesitating. "Hey, you don't...You don't believe what the police are saying, do you?" Alex grabbed his face with a slight laugh.

"No, Peter. You know I don't. I hope you do not think you can get rid of me now because you're stuck with me." Peter laughed before grabbing her hands.

"I'd never leave you, Alex." Peter's words of reassurance made her want to explode.

"Does it scare you? What can you do?"

"No, no, it doesn't. If anything, it makes me feel good to know that I'm helping the ones who can't help themselves. It makes me happy."

"I was scared you wouldn't return to me in one piece." She admitted. "What did that thing on the bridge look like?" Alex asked curiously. Peter sighed as he looked down.

"It was huge. Too big to be human. It's like it had no concessions, it only had one mission, and that was to destroy everything in its way." Alex took his hands in hers. He needed to lay low and stay off the streets, he was bringing too much attention to himself.

"Pete, you've gotta lay low, I admire you for what you're doing, and trust me when I say I'd never stop you from being Spider-Man, but this is dangerous. You could get hurt.." Peter knew he couldn't do that. He had to protect the city and the ones he loved.

"You know I can't do that." Alex smiled sadly.

"It was worth a try, though, right? Peter, you know that's not your job. I know you can do things others can't, but that doesn't mean you have to do it all."

"I know but, maybe it is." He trailed off. "I really liked kissing you." Alex was grinning from ear to ear as she looked at him.

"You're an amazing kisser." She bumped her shoulder into his with a smile, "You're not too bad yourself, Parker. It was good for me too."

Peter moved in closer, letting his lips ghost over her's their breaths mingling together. "I really wanna kiss you right now."

"Then kiss me, Idiot," Alex remarked boldly. Peter leaned in and kissed her. Those same fireworks exploded inside her again. She felt faint the two times that she kissed him.

She never wanted to feel the lips of another person again. "I hope you're not stringing me along just to get kisses out of me." She teased. Peter chuckled softly, trailing kisses from the corner of her mouth to her neck.

"No. You deserve to be asked out. I'm working on it." Peter watched as her eyes grew big-an Idea hit her.

"I know who you could talk to about this, Dr. Connors. He'll know exactly what we're dealing with." Peter hadn't given it much thought of telling Dr. Connor even though he had seen him two other times on prior occasions.

"I'll go. But you're not getting involved with this, Alex. It's too dangerous." Alex rolled her eyes and got up from her place on the belchers.

"Too late, Parker. I'm in too deep now. You have to let me help you just with this, Please." Peter couldn't say no to her, no matter how badly he wanted to.

"Alright, but after that, you're out." Alex and Peter was able to leave the school undetected, She knew Dr. Connors would know what to do in this situation. But Peter was stuck wondering:

What was that thing on the bridge? And What did it want?
