THE NEXT MORNING WHEN ALEX AND GWEN ARRIVED AT SCHOOL, Gwen knew why her friend was in such a giddy mood. "He asked you out, didn't he? After catching the two of you kissing I knew he was going to do it." Alex could only reply with a grin.
"Yes, Gwen, he did. He's amazing." Alex couldn't help but gush about Peter but what Gwen didn't know about him was that he was Spider-Man, and If she was being honest, she didn't want anyone else to find out she found it oddly romantic that she was the only one knew his secret.
"See! You two are so cute. I am so glad this ship has finally sailed. There's your lover, boy." Gwen pointed to Peter, who was at his locker unpacking his stuff. Alex walked over to him with a smile before landing a kiss on his cheek.
"Hey."
Peter smiled. "Hey. You're in a good mood." He noticed there was a certain glow Alex had.
"Having an amazing boyfriend will do that to you. Gwen was happy, which was expected." Peter pressed his lips on hers, quickly shutting her up.
"I'll never get used to that." He said. Alex looked at him.
"What? Kissing me?" She asked with a slight smirk. Peter nodded, giving her a grin.
"I was thinking. Maybe you could come over tonight and formally meet my parents. My mom is always asking about you and my dad; well...You know how dads are." Peter didn't get a chance to respond. There was a blood-curdling scream that caused both of them to turn around.
Kids ran down the hallway, trying to get out of the school. Peter could see a large scaly reptile growling and roaring. Alex gasped as she looked at Dr. Connors in his lizard form.
He was huge. Bigger than an average reptile, "Alex, you and Gwen need to get out of here. Now! I'll handle this." She hurriedly nodded and kissed him.
"Go get 'em, tiger." She smirked. Peter noticed that had become her words of encouragement for him. He wasn't complaining. She ran off with Gwen but not before turning to take a look at it.
When Peter saw her looking at him, he yelled. "Go!" Gwen and Alex tan out of the school, leaving Peter behind. He was face to face with him. Peter ran towards him and Dr. Connors was not backing down as he ran towards Peter.
When Dr. Connors took a swing at Peter, he dived to the grown, webbing him up by his feet and causing him to fall. He crawled in a spider-like style leaping on his back and taking a swing. He missed and went tumbling to the ground.
He felt his bag being ripped off his back. Dr. Connors picked him up and slammed him against the lockers causing them to become dented, before throwing him against the display of trophies and into another classroom.
He fell to the ground and released a gasp from the force of hitting the ground. Dr. Connors rammed his way inside, pinning one of his arms down with his food, trying to claw at him. Peter picked up one of the chairs, attempting to hit him with it to no avail.
"Nowhere to hide, Peter." When he located his bag, he slung a web and pulled it worsts him before being thrown into another wall. He quickly began to change into his suit.
"All these souls... lost and alone. I can save them. I can cure them. There's no need to stop me, Peter." He yelled.
When Peter didn't reply, he felt something hit his face. He roared and watched Peter come out and lane on the table. He spun two webs on the lights about him before pulling them down, trying to do damage to the Lizard.
He jumped back, trying to disarm him, but he was much stronger than Peter. They struggled into the hallway, "You're not thinking straight, doc." Peter tried webbing him up.
"Stop this. This isn't you. Let's talk this out." The both of them began climbing on the school's ceiling, the light fixtures coming down as he ran across the top.
Once back on the ground, Peter tried webbing his hand down onto the lockers. "So, I'm guessing you don't wanna talk?" He asked loudly, only getting a growl back from him.
The lizard whipped around and tried to hit Peter with his tail. Peter grabbed it, finding it was heavier than he thought. He was picked up and swung back and forth between the two walls.
"Don't... make me... have to... you!" He panted out of breath; with one final swing, Peter was tossed into another hallway, landing on his back-the Lizard tail still in his hand.
He cringed under his mask, "That is disgusting.." He threw the tail off of himself and jumped up. Dr. Conners grabbed Peter by the face and smashed his head into a nearby window.
Peter struggled to breathe from his mask and the force of the Lizard's hand on his face. "Hey!" Alex shouted before hitting him in the head with a trophy she had found on the ground. Her breathing was heavy. She continued to hold up the trophy in case he decided to attack her.
She couldn't believe this was the same man that had mentored her. "Dr. Connors, stop it! Do you see what you're doing?" He turned to look at her.
"Mmmh, Alex." He lunged at her. Peter webbed up his hand before webbing up the rest of him. It looked like he was in a cocoon with several webs spun around him.
Alex watched as Peter crawled on him, almost like a real spider.
He then shot a web at Alex and yanked her, throwing the trophy out the window. "I thought I told you to get out of here."
"Well, you needed my help," She whispered. "I'm gonna throw you out the window now."
"What?" She asked with wide eyes. When Peter threw her out the window, she screamed before feeling a web stuck to her stomach. Alex released a few short gasps as she looked up, "Peter Parker, I am going to kill you!"
The sound of police sirens could be heard in the back, "Ma'am! Are you alright? We're coming to get you down." After the mayhem that had just occurred, Alex rushed to find Gwen.
"Gwen! Gwen!" The blonde turned around with a look of relief.
"Oh my gosh! I was worried sick. I was calling you. Are you okay?" Alex nodded. Her hair was messy, and her face a little dirty.
"Where's Peter?" Gwen looked around for the boy only to find he was nowhere to be found. Alex pulled out her phone and called him.
"Hey, Where are you? Am I outside with Gwen? Are you okay?" She rambled.
"I'm fine. I'm okay. I'm in the sewer, tracking him. I have to stop him before anyone gets hurt. But we need an antidote. Do you know how to run a serum?" Alex scoffed.
"Do you know who you're talking to? I do it all the time. What about Gwen? She's here with me. She doesn't exactly know about you." Alex knew she couldn't leave her. Peter agreed for her to tell Gwen.
"I need you to go to Oscorp. I need you to access the cross-species file. It's a blue serum. File 12389."
"Got it. Peter," She expressed. "Be safe. I love you."
"I love you too. I always am." When the two hung up, Alex turned to Gwen.
"Gwen. I'm gonna need your help." ---------------------------
