"ALEX, NOW! DO IT NOW!" ALEX LET HER HAND HOVER OVER THE LARGE BUTTON BUT COULDN'T BRING HERSELF to press it. "I can't! You'll die, Peter."

"Press it!" He yelled. She closed her eyes before pressing the button. There was a massive surge of energy that came after she pressed the button. Afterward, Alex came rushing out of the Plant, and the day had faded into the night. She watched as the lights and power came back on.

"I think we can still make your flight," Peter mentioned but was caught off guard by Alex hugging him. Her eyes were closed, and she was thanking whatever god was out there for bringing Peter back to her.

Peter looked up and saw a strange figure gliding down towards them. Peter and Alex unwrapped from each other. "Alex, stay here." He warned.

"Peter, who is that?" She tried to hang on to his hand but found it was slipping out of hers. The man in front of them looked sick. Part of his skin looked like it was rotting, and his teeth, when he smiled, looked pitch black. Alex quickly realized it was Harry Osborn.

"Peter, When you said Spider-Man said no, you meant you said no." When he spoke, it almost came out like a crackle. Alex felt for the first time the feeling of fear travel through her.

"Harry...What did you do?" Peter sounded disheartened as he looked at the childhood friend he once knew.

"What you made me do. You were my friend, and you betrayed me!" Alex felt herself jump when Harry suddenly lashed out after speaking with a calm tone of voice.

"No. I was trying to protect you. I wanted to keep you safe. That's all I ever wanted to do." He tried to explain. Alex found herself inching closer to Peter. If something were to happen, she wanted to try her best to protect him.

"You don't give people hope. You take it away. Now I'm going to take away yours." Harry gave Alex a sinister smile before taking off in her direction.

"No, Harry. Alex Run!" Alex took off running back towards the plant. Harry was faster. She found herself being snatched up by Harry and into the sky. This was not the same feeling as when Peter picked her up.

This was fear, and although she was horrified, she found herself holding into Harry. At any moment, he could decide to drop her. "Harry! Harry, please! Put me down, Please." She begged, trying to hold her voice together. He wouldn't listen.

"Harry! Harry, put her down! Harry, stop this right now!" The pain and urgency in Peter's voice were real. From the corner of her eye, she could see him webbing his way up the Clock Tower. "This isn't you, Harry. This is not you. Harry, put her down." Alex watched as Harry contemplated with Peter.

"Harry!" She snapped. "HARRY is dead!"

"Harry, this is between you and me. You wanna fight? Fight me! Let her go! Please." It was like something switched inside of Harry. He grinned at her with that same sinister grin.

She knew what he was going to do. "Please, don't."-

When Harry dropped her in mid-air, she found that she made no noise as she was free-falling through the air. While she was falling, she was staring directly at hair, who had stoic and emotionless as he watched her fall.

She felt Peter crash into her had he grabbed her, causing her to let out a short gasp. When she saw them about to crash into the Clock Tower, she closed her eyes and tucked her face into Peter's neck.

The sound of glass and metal breaking was the only thing she could hear. Her ears had popped as she made it back down to the ground. Her breathing was heavy, and her entire body was shaking.

"Alex, can you hear me? Are you okay?"

"Mmh mmh, I am not okay. I just fell from over 100 feet." She gasped. Peter looked at the ground to see a small bomb next to them that suddenly went off. Alex got up and began trying to make her way around the gears, careful not to get stuck.

When Harry's glider when flying without him on it and crashed into the gears, Alex found herself falling again before being caught by another one of Peter's Webs.

"I got you, Alex. Just don't let go." Harry and Peter were at it again with each other, the two friends stopping at nothing to kill each other. Alex was trying to find some way to get back on the gears, but she had nothing to hang or grab onto.

Peter was not stuck with Harry's hands around his neck, one web around Harry's throat. His foot was stuck in one of the gears and hanging into the web, keeping Alex from falling.

Alex was looking up. She hadn't heard Peter say a word. All she could hear was grunting. "Peter!" She asked with worry. Soon, the gear between Peter's foot snapped and gave out.

The web snapped. Alex released a small gasp. Peter looked down to see Alex falling inside the tower. Everything seemed to be happening in slow motion. The only thing that mattered to Peter was getting to Alex in time.

Alex looked at Peter. The gut feeling of knowing he wouldn't be able to catch her was sinking in. Broken gears were falling around her. If she went tonight, Peter was the last one she would see, the one she loved the most.

She was happy and content with knowing that they were able to tell each other everything they wanted to say. He knew she loved him, and she knew he loved her, and that's all she could ever ask for.

Peter shot a web, hoping it would get to her. When the web attached to her chest, Peter grabbed a pole. Alex closed her eyes, and soon everything went black.

There was a sickening crack in the aftermath of everything as Alex hit bottom.

Peter jumped down and landed next to her. He took his mask off and looked at Alex. She was motionless, with the web still attached to her chest. His breathing was erratic. Why wasn't she moving? He walked up closer to her.

It simply looked like she was sleeping. He lightly picked her up to remove the web, "Hey...Alex, hey." She remained. Still, she didn't move. She didn't speak. There was nothing.

"You're okay...You're going to be okay. Talk to me, Please." He pleaded, his eyes welling up with tears, and his voice continued to crack as he looked at her lifeless and motionless figure. "Alex! breath, please just breath." He sat on the ground with her in his lap. Her head rolled to the side.

"Hey! Hey, Alex. No, stay with me. No, you stay with me. Please, you can't leave me." He cried, his face was red, almost purple, as he called out to her, but she said nothing, and still, she didn't move.

"Stay with me. You have to stay with me. No, please, please." He bawled over her lifeless body. He promised her. He promised he would keep her. We wouldn't let anything happen to her.

He promised Gwen's father that he would let anything happen to her, and he failed. He failed as Spider-Man, and he failed as a boyfriend.

He broke his promise always to protect her no matter what. He had done the one this he was afraid of. Losing Alex.

"Please...I can't do this without you. Please don't leave me." Peter was now crying into the girl's neck. There was no saving her. There was nothing he could have done to save her.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Alex. I love you, I...I can't do this without you." Peter screamed. That's all he could do was scream. There weren't enough words to describe how it felt to be holding her lifeless body.

The girl he had fallen for was gone forever, and there was nothing he could do to bring her back. Peter had failed everyone he lost, his Uncle, his best friend, Gwen's father, and now Alex. The one girl he swore he'd protect until the end of time.
