It's almost like the world stood still around you. Deep down, you already had your suspicions. You knew her too well. But hearing it out loud hit you differently and you only realised you were holding your breath when you were finally able to say something back.
"How do you know that, Ava?" You ask, leaning yourself against the door.
"Because she's cheating on you with me..." She responds. You take a breath, there's no way you couldn't believe her. Sarah always had an eye on Ava, and she wasn't always subtle about it.
"And why are you telling me?" You question her motives to do such thing.
"Because I honestly think you deserve better than everything's she's done and continues to do to you..." She admits.
"I appreciate it, Ava. I've got to go now. Bye" You hang up before she can even say something, needing space to process what you'd just been told.
You slowly made your way to bed, sitting and facing the wall. Your mind raced nonstop, in a mixture of betrayal but also relief. You wanted to see the good in her, wanted things to end, but on good terms. The bad things that happened didn't necessarily erase the good moments you shared, so it did hurt.
Still, there was a war on your mind. A wave of relief infiltrated you with this new information. It meant that you didn't need to feel guilty for every time you looked at Brian, or every time you added a flirtatious tone to your interactions. You also had no idea what do to with it now, and you were also exhausted. So you tried to brush it off for the moment as you got some rest after continuously overthinking things.

You wake up to the sound of your alarm going off, having you groan as it was still pretty early. You'd be getting back in the bus, for a short time, as you're headed to Milwaukee next. You gather your things in your sleepy state, entering the elevator and checking out of the hotel. Your bags are loaded into the bus as you enter it, immediately recognising the intense blue eyes as Brian pats the spot next to him.
"Slept well?" He asks as he notices something is off.
"Kinda... it's really early" You answer, not feeling ready to tell him about the phone call you received last night yet.
"It is..." He chuckled.
You don't know exactly when it happened, but the next thing you know your head is resting on Brian's shoulder and his arm is enveloping you as he holds you close to him. You heard muffled sounds at first, a voice right next to your ear as you slowly open your eyes. Things are blurry at first, but as your vision comes back to focus, you remember where you are and who's next to you.
"Sweetheart..." You hear him whisper. You turn to look at him in your groggy state.
"We're here" He smiles and you can't help but melt.
The fact that you weren't alone as this happened did make you feel self conscious and he noticed as his smile slowly faltered. You had noticed that Brian didn't really give a shit about what people thought might be happening between you two, he only cared when it bothered you. And despite not necessarily feeling the same way as you about it, he always followed a path that made you less uncomfortable.
There was a lot of talk around you about the after party happening after tonight's show. It's not like you had a party after every single show, most times you relished your time alone in bed after all the effort you put into the production. The only bad thing was to not have Brian by your side, but it was all a matter of time. Tonight's party would be slightly more exciting as you'd be going to Trixie's bar, This Is It.
