Chapter 53 - Dive into the demons

LIZZIE'S POV

"So how is she?"
"Well, i mean, things aren't going so bad between us, even if she often has mood swings" i explain while i sip from my cup of tea.
"Well it's normal after all isn't it? I mean it can't be easy for her to have these black holes from her past and not being able to place you in any of her memories" says Scarlett
"Yeah, to her brain i'm a complete stranger, but in her heart i hope i'm still something to her" i'm happy and i couldn't say the opposite, we're spending these days together and it seems like we've just met, but sometimes i wish she hadn't forgotten about me.
Yes she would probably hate me and not even let me be around her but so i feel like lying to her, being dishonest with her, i feel like i'm taking advantage of the situation and it's not fair.
"Did you tell her what happened?" Scar asks me
"I made her a box where there are questions inside that she could ask me so that i could tell her about our moments but for now we haven't faced that topic yet" i explain to her
"Lizzie i think it's time to be honest with her, more you go on and more difficult it will become for both of you, she's starting to get attached to you again and it's only right that she knows everything so she can make her own decision" Scar is right, she deserves to know everything, as much as it hurts i can't not tell her why she ended up in a coma.
"I want to Scar, i want to be honest with her, no more lies i promise"
"Good, i'm proud of you Liz, you're trying to figure it all out like an adult and believe me she'll understand too, so now you take me to her?"

"Yes let's go"

We get up from the cafeteria to go to y/n, i can't wait to see the face she'll make when she sees Scarlett, after all she hasn't seen her in a long time.
"Do you think she will remember me?" she asks while we walk along the hospital corridors
"Oh don't worry, i'm the only stranger here" i say ironically.

We arrive in front of her room and decide to go inside
"Good morning hone-" i interrupt noticing that her bed is empty and there is no trace of her.
I check in the bathroom but nothing she isn't there either.
Where the hell did her go?
Anxiety begins to attack me, now i can only think of the worst.
"Liz calm down, she's gone somewhere" Scarlett says trying to reassure me
"But she can't go anywhere she can't walk yet" i explain, flailing every second that passes.
I leave the room and stop the first nurse i find. "Excuse me, do you know if patient y/l/n had any medical examination now?" i ask the lady
"Let me check her medical file" she says, we both go back to y/n's room.
"Uhm no, this morning she had lower joints rehabilitation and a visit from a psychologist, but i don't see any medical examination for this hour" she explains kindly, i thank her but i can't keep the growing panic.
"Okay everything will be fine, just relax"
"What if something serious happened to her? What if she had another accident? either-or-" the most horrific scenarios make their way into my head
"Liz she's in a hospital nothing can happen to her" Scarlett says trying to get me to think rationally
"Yes but-" we hear voices coming from the door, i turn around and breathe a sigh of relief when i see her.
She's in a wheelchair while a nurse takes her back to her room.
"Oh my god y/n" i run to her and hug her tightly, releasing all the fear of losing her that i had until then
"Uhm good morning to you too Lizzie" she says perplexed by my behavior.
"Thanks, i'll take care of her" i say to the nurse who nods kindly before leaving
"Sorry but i got so scared" i tell y/n kneeling in front of her
"And why on earth?"
"I thought-well i didn't see you in the room and i- well i thought you-"
"Hey Lizzie look at me" she says pulling my chin up so that our eyes can meet
"I'm not going anywhere don't worry, i'm here with you, i had some time so i asked to go to my mother, i wanted to spend some time with her" she smiles at me and that smile reassures me.
"Good, because i would come looking for you, even in another universe" i say to her looking at her beautiful eyes
"And i would wait for you, in any universe" she whisper
