Chapter 25
Grace's P.O.V.
My hands were clenched into fists by my side, my teeth were clamped together and my eyes stung. Still, I wouldn't allow myself to blink. Adam stared back at me with just as much as intensity. His eyes looked like they were about to start watering.
We were having a staring contest, don't ask me how it all start. The point is, it's been thirty seconds and neither of us has blinked yet and I think I'm going to go crazy. I needed to blink or else my eyes were going to dry up and fall out, but I couldn't let him win.
My will was running out, I was going to blink any second and lose. Of course, I have the most awesome boyfriend in the world who just happened to come to my rescue at the last possible moment.
"Hey Adam!" he said cheerily. He walked up behind his brother and slapped him hard on the back. Adam jerked back in surprise, causing him to blink.
I quickly squeezed my eyes shut and allowed the stinging sensation to go away. Relieved, I reopened them and stood up with my hands in the air, "Ladies and gentleman, she has won!"
Adam glared at me, "Because she cheated!"
I put my hands on my hips, "I did no such thing."
"Then what do you call this retard slapping me on the back and making me blink?" he demanded while glaring back at Blake. He just grinned at his older brother and came by my side.
My lips twitched up into a smile, "That's not cheating, that's just cleverly giving myself an advantage."
Adam crossed his muscular arms across his chest, "Don't be twisting my words."
"I'm not!" I exclaimed, "I'm just rephrasing them."
"You did it again!"
I burst out laughing and fell down onto their plushy purple couch. Now it was Adam's turn to take advantage of things. He stretched out and plopped his legs right on top of me so I couldn't get up.
"Adam!" I complained through laughs.
"What?" he asked innocently.
"Get off!"
"Hmmm, nah. I'm just cleverly taking advantage of this situation," he mocked.
I did my best to glare over at him, but it was kind of hard when I couldn't really move. I saw a grin spread over his face. I paused, "What?" I asked uneasily.
He looked up at Blake, "I think there's room for one more person on this couch, don't you think?"
My eyes widened and I looked over at Blake in horror. He had a huge grin on his face to match his brother's. "I think you're right," he agreed.
"Blake," I warned, "I swear if you do it-"
I was cut off when he jumped and landed on the other side of me, his legs falling right besides Adam's. Not only could I move now, I could barely breath.
"Blake!" I yelled.
Both of them laughed at my helplessness. I pouted, "I'm really not enjoying this."
"Aww, c'mon, smile darling."
I twisted my neck so I could see his face. I glared at him and stuck out my tongue. Real mature, I know.
He grinned and leaned forward to kiss me, but I pulled back and hid my face in the couch cushion. I smiled to myself when I heard him sigh in defeat, but then I felt his arms around my waist.
