Epilogue
Blake's P.O.V-
"How have you been this week Blake?" Dr. Zeggers glanced over his clipboard to look at me lying down on my couch throwing up a baseball and then catching it.
"Good," I said indifferently.
He raised his eyebrows, "Just good?"
I shrugged, still playing with the baseball. "Yeah? What's wrong with just being good?"
He cleared his throat, "Well I was looking for a more of a description."
I caught the baseball. "Okay. It was very good."
He sighed and put down the clipboard. I threw the baseball back into the air. "Blake?" he said. I caught the baseball. "Blake..." I threw it back up. "Blake do I have to get someone in here to make you cooperate?"
I wasn't planning on responding, but another voice for me. "That's alright Dr. Zeggers, I'm here."
I straightened up immediately and shoved the baseball under my pillow. Dr. Zeggers smiled, "Ah, hello Grace. How are you today?"
She smiled at him, "I'm good. Sorry I'm late."
"Not a problem! Maybe you can tell me how your week has been."
She glanced over at me at me and gave me a look, "Of course."
She started to tell him about her week while I just sort of sat there embarrassed. I told her I'd try to cooperate with Dr. Zeggers and the whole therapy thing. So far I have been, but it's been over a month. I guess I'm getting fed up with his endless pairs of plain white shirts and those stupid round glasses. I almost wish I could take him to Kohls or something so I could get him a different colored tee. Like blue? Green? Those colors are great...
My rant in my head about shirt colors ended when Grace stopped talking and looked at me. "That was fun, wasn't it babe?"
I blinked at her, "What?"
She sighed, "Going to the zoo with Jimmy."
"Oh!" I said quickly, "yeah, it was."
She shook her head at my response and looked back at the doctor. Truth be told, it was a great time. I don't know why my mouth formed such a bland response. In all honesty, ever since the...incident, Jimmy and I have actually become friends. At first, I thought his kindness was out of pity and temporary, but he's actually made an effort to get to know me. Surprisingly, the more and more we talked, the more I realized we had a lot in common.
I found it odd...my own brother has been a stranger to me for almost thirteen years.
We went to the zoo together, Jimmy, Grace, Adam and I, on Thursday. Why? I don't really know. I think we were bored. It ended up being a great day, though, and we have plans to go to a water park next week with Chris and Chebby.
Dr. Zeggers didn't stay for much longer. With Grace there, I started to put some effort into my answers though I felt an overwhelming sensation of relief when he finally left.
