Chapter 27
Grace's P.O.V-
I was breathing hard even though he was moving slow and even in the over air conditioned room, I was ever so warm. He lay on top of me, his bare muscular chest against the flat of my stomach, but not enough to crush me under his greater mass.
His hands were gentle, but firm as they would be on my hips and then slowly slide up my body to caress my face. His lips were soft and wet as they moved from mine, to my neck, and further down...
I let out a shaky, nervous breath and his lips halted just below my collarbone. I sensed that he'd glanced back up at me, but my eyes were still closed.
Suddenly, his voice whispered in my ear, "Sorry..."
I shook my head, not truly caring, but unable to find the words to speak. The mix of pleasure and being respected felt like a dream, and words would put it to waste. Instead, I tangled my fingers further into his hair and pressed his body closer against mine so I could feel his muscles through my shirt.
I could feel his hot breath against my ear as he tried to speak, "G-grace?"
"Hmmm?"
"Grace..." he whispered again before finding my lips once more.
He pulled back after a moment and rested his forehead against mine. I finally opened my eyes and was amazed at just how remarkable he looked. His long black hair fell over his jaw line, shadowing most of his face, and I marveled at his perfect tan body.
I couldn't help myself and ran my fingers along the perfectly shaped muscles. He let out a quivering breath and put both his hands on either side of my face. I ran my hands up his chest and to his shoulders. He let out a breath that he seemed to be holding and I lifted one hand to move his hair out of his face.
Those eyes...
Those green eyes smoldered into mine and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest from the intensity of his stare.
"Grace..." he started again.
This was new, I realized. It was a side of him I rarely ever saw. When he was nervous, when he knew that he was vulnerable.
I stared back into those green eyes, "What's wrong?" I breathed.
"Nothing, I-I..." He let out a sigh and rolled over to his side. His arms looped around my waist and pulled me closer to him. "I'm just so lucky to have someone like you."
I bit my lip, "I'm the lucky one, Blake." It sounded so corny to say, but it was true and he always said things that left me speechless.
I heard his low chuckle and felt his lips on my shoulder. "You're sweet darling, but I honestly can't see how you think that."
I found one of his hands and laced my fingers through it, "Why not?"
"Because," he said while stretching and resting his chin on my shoulder, "When people see you, they see this beautiful, amazing girl, and when they see me, they probably see a guy with a lot of problems...not that they're wrong with that assumption. Then they see us together and wonder what went wrong."
I sighed, "Nothing went wrong because when I see you, I see an amazing guy who makes me happy." I arched my neck back so I could see his face, "And that's all that matters, right? What we think, and not what others might."
He smiled and kissed my cheek. His stomach growled and I could feel the vibrations on my back. I giggled and turned around to face him, "Hungry much?"
