The atmosphere here in the bar was relaxed and joyful. Apparently, everyone was in the best mood for the upcoming holidays. My eyes wandered through the laughing crowd until they finally landed on Damian.
He had gone to the bar a few minutes ago to get us drinks. However, the many people who were gathered here by now made it more than difficult for him to make his way back to our table.
"Hey beautiful lady... All alone here? How about a little drink to warm you up?" a slimy guy suddenly asked me and sat down next to me without asking.
Close next to me. I immediately tried to slide away from him, but did not get far. And he had the nerve to slide even closer to me. I lifted my head to look at Damian. He was still quite a bit away from me. He was smiling, but that quickly changed when he saw the look on my face and the guy next to me.
"No thanks. I'm with someone. Get lost." I said in a firm voice.
However, the stranger was not affected by this. He just sneered at me arrogantly. Almost as if he thought he was God's gift to mankind.
"Well... I don't see anyone. Just a drink, baby girl. I promise you'll like it." he replied.
"I recommend you to get the hell lost or you might lose some teeth," I said aggressively.
"Oh, and how would that happen? I can handle a little girl like you with ease." he said mockingly.
"You should not underestimate the lady.... And don't underestimate me either! Get the fuck out of here before I kick your teeth down your throat for bothering my girl," Damian growled.
His voice was deeper than usual and sounded so menacing that it didn't take long for the stranger to nearly wet his pants and quickly make a run for it.
"Creep..." muttered Damian under his breath before sitting down next to me and eyeing me intently.
"Are you okay?" he asked worriedly.
"Of course. But thank you anyway." I replied while taking his hand firmly in mine and squeezing it reassuringly.

The creepy guy thing was quickly forgotten though as we engaged in our conversation. I don't think I've laughed so much in a long time. And to my amazement, we had a lot more in common than I originally thought.
"So tell me.... How did you manage to draw my name?" I wanted to know.
"Well...it was actually quite simple.... Rhea didn't throw your name in the hat with the others but gave me the piece of paper directly. Then all I had to do was pretend to draw a name." he explained to me.
"Oh you are both very sneaky.... I guess you were lucky then that I drew your name huh? Or did that not happen properly either?" I replied with a laugh.
"That was really pure luck. Everything worked out great in the end. And your happy face was even better than your perfect gift." he said as he slid a little closer to me.
"Aww... you're really cute, you know?" I whispered.
"Yeah... But please don't tell anyone... I have a reputation to maintain." he chuckled deeply before finally kissing me with the softest, most addictive lips and I forgot about everything around us.
