"O'Reilly, Fish, you're up first." the producer said, and our music started playing. Everything went as usual. We made our way to the ring together and posted as usual.

But as I stood there on the ropes and let my eyes wander through the audience, my gaze lingered on this beautiful woman. She was easily the most mesmerizing being I have ever seen.

It was hard to pull my thoughts back to the present and concentrate on my job. I took the opportunity to look at her a little longer while our opponents came to the ring. Bobby tried to talk to me, but I had to admit that I hardly noticed anything.

I was too fascinated by this mysterious woman. Suddenly our eyes met and I couldn't help but smile. A smile spread across her face as well. It was a rather shy smile and yet it felt like I was melting away.

I just couldn't take my eyes off her. But then Bobby elbowed me in the ribs to remind me where I was and that we had a match that was going to start any second.

Reluctantly, I took my eyes off the woman who had captivated me within seconds and tried to concentrate on my job. I had to say that this had never been as difficult for me as it was at that moment.

I managed to focus on the match and our opponents whenever I was in the ring, but every time I stood on the ring apron and Bobby was in the ring, I couldn't help but stare at the woman repeatedly.

And she kept looking at me too. I could see how she now and then shyly tucked her hair behind her ear or leaned toward her friend to whisper something in her ear. Once she even winked at me.

I really had to pull myself together now, because I almost missed Bobby's tag. I climbed back into the ring and tried as best I could to pull my thoughts away from the woman.

I wondered what her name was. Good lord, O'Reilly pull yourself the fuck together and do your job. That's exactly what I did, even though it was very difficult. This was not something I was used to at all. What was going on here? What did this woman, who I didn't even know and who I saw for the first time today, do to me?

With much more effort than usual, I finally managed to finish the match and get the win for us. Our arms were raised by the referee in victory. But again my gaze wandered in the same direction as before.

To my astonishment, or perhaps rather dismay, I had to find out that she was gone.

Disappointment immediately spread through me as I let my eyes move through the rows of the audience again and did not rediscover her. This probably meant that I would never see the mystery woman again. It was a shame, really. I would have loved to find out what was behind my instant attraction. A single glance into those beautiful eyes was enough to give me that feeling in my gut.

But since she had disappeared, I would never get a chance to know more about her and what it was about her that distracted me so much that I was barely able to do my job. The job that was my passion and that I loved more than anything else in this crazy world.

"What was wrong with you today?" asked Bobby as we made our way backstage.

"I saw this woman in the audience and I don't know. Somehow I couldn't stop looking at her. I know it's crazy and it doesn't make sense. It won't happen again. I promise." I explained to him.

"I've never seen anything or anyone distract you like that before. So she must be something very special." he said, patting me on the back.

"Probably. Too bad I'm not going to find out now." I replied with a sigh.

"What do you mean?" Bobby wanted to know.

"Well, when I looked around for her again, she was gone. Just forget about it." I said, making my way toward the locker room.

"Don't be so pessimistic. You don't know if she won't be back in the audience next week," Bobby replied with a grin.

At that moment I realized that he might be right. I did not know for sure that I would not see her again. Maybe one day she would just stand in front of me and look at me with those beautiful eyes and give me that sparkling smile again.
