Part Two

—Two Months Later—

If Chay had been lonely while Porsche worked at Yok's bar it was nothing compared to how he felt now that Porsche was gone working at the beach. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was never completely alone. It was like something told him instinctively that he was being watched even though Chay never saw who was watching him. It was on such an occasion that he and Mine were visiting the faculty of music at Anantrameka University.

They wandered around from classroom to classroom, chatted with other seniors interested in the faculty before making their way to the pavilion with the stage set up. Students were milling about and the seniors of the faculty were talking in excited, hushed whispers. Porchay and Mine were looking around curiously trying to figure what was causing the excitement when out of the corner of his eye, Chay noticed one of the men he had seen recently. Before he could mention it to Mine however, a senior took the stage and announced that P'Wik was making a surprise appearance.

When he walked onto the stage dressed so casually yet stunningly in white slacks and black tee, with the supple brown leather of his jacket gleaming under the stage lights, Chay was transported back two months before to another stage with another incarnation of Wik in leather with a guitar in his lap singing. His heart fluttered and his pulsed throbbed from the ops of his collar bone down to his finger tips. His legs got weak. It was like Chay was standing in a long dark tunnel and the only light at the end of it was Wik himself, the only guide his whisky smooth voice telling him, "That's it, baby, Just once more."

As Wik began to sing, Chay was mesmerized further. It was almost as if he could hear and not hear at the self-same time. In fact, he wasn't transported back to reality until he hear Wik say, "Is it worth it if I lose something along the way—But—If we love something so much with all out hearts don't you think it's worth it?"

What was it about those words that they struck a chord deep in Chay's chest? Then the MC offered autographed shirts for Wik related trivia and Chay he had it in the bag. Sadly, the MC didn't even seem to notice him no matter how quickly he raised his hand. Growing increasingly more frustrated, he lost his temper on the last question.

"Lastly, what song by Wik feathers a cat in the video?"

The girl that was chosen was both right and wrong when she told the crowd that it was "The Beached Whale" which prompted Chay's outburst.

"No, that's not it!" He called out. "There are three songs, "Lost Star," there's a til of a cat after the hook, "Shape of You," a paw is seen around the intro, and in "I Secretly Like You" there's a cat doll."

Kim, at the moment he heard Chay's voice when rigid on stage his eyes—with laser focus—turned onto his beautiful, perfect omega. Even Kim couldn't remember every nuance and detail of his music videos, but his omega did. Perhaps the idea of imprinting wasn't completely crazy as he had spent the last agonizing two months trying to tell himself it was. He hadn't even realized that Chay would be at this event and once he had, Kim managed to convince himself that surely the boy wouldn't be interested in his faculty just because it was open house at the university. Chay would be perfectly safe wandering around the campus with his friends and Kim would slip in and out without every making contact, or at least that had been his plan. Well, his plan had just gotten royally and completely fucked. Because the two months he had spent trying to distance himself from the memory of Doe Eyes, the two months he had spent trying to rebuild his walls after dealing with the bastards trafficking omegas was completely wasted the minute he looked into Chay's eyes once more.

In an effort affect as much indifference as possible, when the MC check to see if Chay was correct, Kim nodded, his eyes never leaving the omega's as he applauded.
