FROM her deep slumber, Solis stirred and woke up with extreme throbbing temples. She almost panicked when she realized that she woke up on a couch instead of in a warm and cozy bed in their master's bedroom. She's about to ask herself what happened when reality hits her hard.

She froze in her spot. She began to feel odd as her head felt like it was crushed down. She mentally panicked, thinking it would burst in a moment or two. She then feels her heart started aching while her stomach is churning in disgust. She realizes soon that she's not really dreaming and that everything that happened the previous night was real.

She badly wishes that it was all just in her head but no matter how she tries to convince herself that it's just her imagination, it's in vain. No matter what she thinks, reality still slaps her, and right now, she is in her lowest form.

She prevented herself from crying once more after her bloodshot eyes asked for it. She just feels nothing but weariness; she's so worn out and helpless. She swallowed with her dry throat as she slowly stood up from the couch.

Her back is aching, considering that she's sleeping the whole night there. She tilted her head, thinking maybe she had passed out on the couch exhausted because she knew that Mara won't let her sleep in there.

She walks noiselessly into the kitchen where the delicious smell of chicken parmesan punches her nostrils deliciously. Truth be told, it's her all-time favorite dish. She could have that for a week but not today.

She's actually drained instead of recharging in her drifting state from the previous night. She doesn't feel like eating. Not when she felt like she was tightly squeezed painfully inside. She can't even recognize herself if she is still breathing fine.

"Hi! Morning." Mara came out from nowhere and greeted her with a warm smile. "Come, I made your favorite."

Blindly, she followed Mara on her heels and sat on the table while Mara continued garnishing their food. "How was sleep, Sweetie?"

"Good—I guess," she responded with her hoarse voice.

"How are you? Feeling better now?" Mara still asked though she knows pretty well that she's not.

Solis forced a smile. "I don't know. I feel nothing but pain."

Mara then clears her throat as she chucks awkwardly. "I'm sorry for asking such a stupid question. I mean, it's obvious that you're not."

Solis managed to smile again. "No, it's fine. Thank you for being here with me. I'm glad to know that someone still cares for me."

"You're my best friend. That's what I do. I am your comfort and so you are to me." Mara looked at her thoughtfully.

"I-I haven't told you last night about what really happened." Solis paused, fiddling. "But... it's about my husband. He—he kind of cheated on me and..."

Mara had clenched her fist, looking at Solis's trembling mouth. "It's okay. You don't have to tell me if you're not yet ready."

Solis shakes his head. "I was about to surprise him but it's the other way around. He turned the table and surprised me with his woman instead. I don't know but I felt insulted. Mars, that chick is a hot babe and she's young!"

Though Solis only said that in almost like a whisper, Mara still heard it nonetheless. "Oh, Solis... I-I don't know what to say."

"It's fucked up. I caught him in the act. As I was saying, I was about to surprise him and when I opened the door... there he is, kissing that woman and—" She can't even finish her slurry words once she starts tearing up again.
