THE whole vicinity of the house was too quiet the moment Solis stepped inside. Nonetheless, she just shrugged and scanned the living room instead, blinking the lewd images away from her head as she tried to calm her breathing.
It is still there. She can still see them on that couch. She sighs heavily as she carelessly strides upstairs with heavy eyelids since she exhausted her brain from too much workload just to keep her mind occupied.
Being distracted as she is, she never noticed a figure standing in front of her causing her to bump into it. However, before she could even free-fall down the stairs, a strong arm gripped her waist and tugged her securely.
This made her jolt in full alert. She can't help but gasp as her heart screams out of fright. The stairs are high enough to either kill her, injure her, or paralyze her upon landing on the floor depending on her impact.
"Hey, careful. You almost tripped." Hayland's worried voice gushed over her. "You scared me. You look weary."
Solis can't even utter a thing as she is shaking terribly, holding onto her husband's collar while looking down with wide and frightful eyes. Hayland sighs, guiding her upstairs, whispering soothing words into her ears. The raven-haired guy never lets her go and even brought her in front of the guest room's door.
"It's okay. I got you, you can now calm down," Hayland whispers.
She just nodded, letting go of him as she looked at her shoes. When she didn't speak, Hayland cleared his throat. "I'll cook something for you. Just rest. I'm going to call you once dinner is ready."
Hayland then walks away after kissing her cheeks. It took her a moment before moving on her heels, opening the door to her room when suddenly, her vision became blurry. The horror she felt earlier doubled as she started to move her hands to grip anything and she couldn't find any but the knob as her eyes swirl more.
More and more white flashes before her while her tears freshly streamed down her face. She dropped to her knees, sobbing messily. That's when Hayland comes back, eyes are wide rushing towards her, aiding her.
"Love? What happened?"
"H-Hays..." she sobbed more, trying to find her husband's hands. "Hays—"
Cupping her face, Hayland planted his forehead to hers. "Hush, I'm here. What happened? Tell me."
"I-It's coming back!" she weeps. "My eyes... I-I can't see. I can't see!"
"Love, I'm here. I won't go anywhere," Hayland whispers knowingly, tugging her into his chest.
"No! I can't see. I can't see anything. I can't even see you!" she frantically screams.
"I'm gonna call Dr.—"
"No! I'm fine. It will be back tomorrow," She whispered, her voice is too spent. "Just put me to bed."
"But, we needed—"
"I wanna sleep. Let me sleep," she declared in finality.
Not wanting to upset her anymore, Hayland scooped her from the floor even if it was against his will to put her to bed. He knows well that if he insists on what he wants, Solis might have to hate him even more. He wanted her to be checked by her personal doctor but his stubborn wife acts like she's strong enough to handle everything when she's not.
However, he can't help but blame himself too. Her Doctor always reminded her to not stress herself too much because of her eye condition. By what he did, he just made it worse. This past few days, Solis has already had three severe headaches. She's also stressing herself too much because he ruined her life.
