I finish cooking dinner and set some plates on the table, I make a plate and drop it off to Amy, she takes it but most likely won't eat it so I left her some water as well. I go and wake Ryder up for dinner and go back downstairs and wake Parker up.
"Okay you two sit right there and I'll put a movie on and we'll eat together," I say and they both nod and sit down. I turn on a funny movie and place two plates of burgers and fries. "Yes," they both say excitedly, they start eating like they were starving and even get seconds. "Adenna are you going home tonight," Ryder asks and Parker looks at me "No. I am just going to get some clothes for school in a bit and my keys and then I'll be here after all who would wake you guys up for school tomorrow" I say and they look at me confused "We're going to school" Ryder asks "Yes. Two weeks is a long time. And just to warn you guys you're going to get a lot of apologies and condolences" I say and they look at each other
"But you two will have each other never forget that. Check-in with each other doing it alone is very hard" I say and they look at each other and then at me "Is it hard for you" Parker asks "Oh um.... honestly yes. It's very hard. I...he was the only person I truly fell in love with since...well since I was your age Parker and he was your age Ryder" I smile and hold the necklace in my hands. "But I know that he'd want me to be strong so..." I place my hand on my stomach "That's exactly what I will be strong so from up there he won't worry," I say and they both smile and nod
"We'll be strong too," Parker says placing a hand on Ryder and he nods. "Good. Now I am going next door to grab my stuff you two finish your food" I say standing up and putting my plate in the sink. I walk home and quickly grab my stuff and write a note to my mom letting her know I'll be staying over there and grabbing my keys. I walk outside and go back Ryder and Parker, "Hey Adenna DJ is on the phone for you" Parker says handing me my phone. "Thanks, Parker" I pat his head and put the phone to my ear.
"Hey, Denna. By chance tomorrow could you drop off Dante's laptop the hacker arrived" he says "Yeah I'll make sure to get it to you tomorrow" I say and Ryder looks over at me "I'll call you before I come over" I whisper "Okay. Thanks, Denna I'll see you tomorrow. And don't forget to take it easy and eat something" He says and hangs up the phone. "Your seeing DJ tomorrow," Ryder asks. "Yes, I have to drop something off to him" I answer him "Could we come," he asks "No I am dropping it off during my lunch break so unless you have lunch at 12:30 then no," I say and they look at each other excited
"You both have lunch at that time don't you," I ask and they both nod ecstatic. "okay fine but he's working so you have to stay in the car and then we can go grab something to eat," I say and they smile "Okay" they nod "Just come over to the high school and wait for me by the car," I say and they both nod "Good now you two go shower and get ready for sleep," I say and they both nod and put their plates in the sink. Two hours later and they are both laying down "Okay you two weirdos don't stay up too late now" I say and they both chuckle and nod.
I leave the room flipping off the light and closing the door, I go down the hall to Dante's room and slowly open the door feeling weird being in there. I sit down on his bed and look out the window facing my windows the curtains are shut and I feel sad again. I get up and grab his computer putting it in my backpack, I also look around a bit for anything to tell me what happened.
But nothing came up just old drawings and random papers, but when I am about to look in the last drawer it doesn't open I pull again and see that it's locked. I look around for the key but had no luck. "Damn it Dante" I huff and sit back on the bed. I grab my phone and call DJ, "Hey what's wrong" he asks "Nothing but I may have found something" I say "Really what do you got" he asks "I found one of his drawers is locked, by chance do you know where he keeps his keys or something" I ask "Um I could check his room here but no. Oh have you tried the necklace" he asks "It's not a skeleton key it's a regular one" I say and he huffs "I'll look here but I don't think so" he says and I huff
"Okay let me know if you find anything" I say and we hang up. I sigh and lay down and his bed is full of his smell it's not like his jacket with a faint smell this is all him. And for some reason, this is the only smell that doesn't seem to make me sick. I shower and change and then get in his blankets but lay on the side that he usually doesn't laying in his spot feels wrong to me. "I'll be strong for you" I whisper placing one hand on his pillow and the other on his necklace.
