After a very long day at school I plop down on my bed stretching out, I look at the window and wonder if Dante is home today. I open my curtain and cover my mouth when I see him in just a towel his black hair wet in his face.

His abs are practically glistening, and his towel is barely hanging on his waist, “Holy fuck” I whisper to myself. I cover my face and rapidly shake my head “No no no no you are not doing that again” I say and then hit myself and look up to see Dante smirking at me. “AH” I scream and jump back, he lifts his window and leans out “Like the view doll” he chuckles and I throw my window open “Yeah right I've seen way better than you” I scoff

“Oh right like who that old man your dating” he scoffs “We're not dating and he's not old you two are practically the same age and put some clothes on” I roll my eyes “If your not dating why do you always come home the way you do” he raises an eyebrow “That's….not your business so stay out of it” I growl. “Oh I see he's just a fuck buddy wow I didn't think you'd want someone to be your fuck buddy” he chuckles

“Yeah well it wasn't really a choice” I snap and his eyes widen. “What does that mean” he growls “N…nothing…I…I gotta go” I say slamming the window and then I see him brewing then I shut my curtains. “Fuck fuck fuck” I say biting my nail and pacing back and forth, “Damn it” I hit the wall.

~Flashback~  (one year ago)
“Hey, pretty girl how are you doing today,” Sage asks sitting down in front of me “Oh hey Sage you're working the late shift too,” I say looking up. “Yup” he nods “Hey Adenna can I ask you a question,” he says tilting his head at me. “Yeah what's up,” I ask “Who's your dad,” he asks and I feel a shiver go down my spine “Why do you want to know,” I ask “Because I found something…interesting,” he says and I get goosebumps “W…what…did you find,” I ask bouncing my leg. “He's the red river killer isn't he,” he asks and I feel my heart start racing and my breath gets shorter “How did you find that out,” I say standing up and knocking over the chair. “Because…” he leans over the table “He contacted me to find you” he smiles and I feel my hands shaking “W…who are you,” I ask shaking “I am a private investigator,” he says and I feel shocked my whole body covered in goosebumps “Y…you can't do that” I shake my head “Oh but he's paying me such good money how could I hold him off if you're not paying me anything” he smiles “B..but y..you know how much I get paid,” I say gripping my shirt. “P…please don't do this,” I say tears welling up in my eyes “Hmm you know I could throw him off the trail but it'll cost you” he smiles looking at me up and down. “B…but…I…I'm a minor” I say trying to hide myself with my arms, “Oh I know how about this I don't enter you until your 18 but for now…” he gets closer “I will tease…oh and there's one more thing” he says running his finger down my body. “P…please just don't tell him where I am” I sniffle “Okay but you have to stay away from that boy,” he says and I look at him confused “The one you said you like,” he says and I feel my heart break “W..why..w..we're neighbors,” I ask “Because I am also to report who you are around unless you want to put your little crush in harm's way” he smiles and slides his hand in my shirt “ah….n..no I…I'll stay away from him” I cry. “Good” he smiles sinisterly.
~End of flashback~

I grab my keys and phone going downstairs, thank God my mom isn't home until late, she's a police officer while she was in the academy my father was “Raising” me. I open the door and lock it then walk to my car but then I make eye contact with a still-mad Dante. And I rush to my car closing the door and right when I'm about to lock the door, but he throws it open and enters my car. “What the hell get out of my car” I growl and he is looking down “What did you mean,” he asks in a very deep and serious voice.

“Dante I just misspoke it's not what it sounds like,” I say and I feel my hands shaking, “If that's true why are you shaking,” he says, and then move my hands out of his view “I'm cold,” I say looking down feeling tears threatening to slip through “What happened to us” he whispers “W…what do you mean,” I ask looking at him and he slowly looks at me “Nothing doll,” he says wiping the small tears from my eyes “Don't be late for my party,” he says and pats my head.

“I'll be there” I give him a soft smile and he nods getting out of the car, “Get going see you soon” he smiles and I nod. I drive off and go to an old hidden park it used to be mine and Dante's spot we came here every day after school and then everything changed I started acting like a bitch and he graduated, but I continued acting like one whenever I saw him. And he always played with me, “Why did I have to be born” I whisper looking up to the sky “Why did I have to be his” I ask tears streaming down my face “I wish we could be normal again” I cry harder putting my face in my hands. I lay there for about an hour and decide that it's time to get ready for Dante's party.
