Is this my fault?

"And who did you say dropped off the package," an officer asks writing in his notepad "Um he was about 5'9 had black hair, brown eyes, and a full beard," I say and he writes everything down "Okay thank you for your corporation mam. We'll contact you if we need anything else," he says and then leaves to his car. I close the door and lean against it, "Oh Dante what is going on" I whisper closing my eyes. "Adenna?" I open my eyes and see Parker and Ryder standing in front of me "Oh boys what can I help you with" I ask wiping the small tears from my eyes. "We were wondering what was in the box," Parker says and I take a deep breath. "Um. It....It was a threat for DJ" I sigh and they nod "Why did we bring it here" Ryder asks "Well you see my mom....My mom doesn't trust DJ and I want to keep him off her radar because I know DJ had nothing to do with this" I say and they both nod again. "Okay. Oh before I forget DJ said to give this to you" Parker says handing me the bag that had my pancakes in it. "Oh, my pancakes" I smile, "Boys come eat," Amy says setting their plates down "Coming," they both say and Parker goes immediately "Hey. Adenna is mom doing better now" Ryder asks "....Yeah she is. I told her about the baby" I whisper to him and he nods. We all sit down and start eating catching Amy what's been going on and telling the boys that I'll be living with them. "Hey, mom do you think we could stay back tomorrow," Parker asks playing with his food. "Um. I don't know guys are you even caught up with your work" Amy asks "Yeah we finished all of it like two days ago" Ryder says "Oh. Um okay, then you two can stay home. But only for tomorrow" Amy says and they both high five excited. *Knock knock* we all look at the door, "I'll get it" I say getting up "Thank you Adenna" Amy nods I slowly reach into my pocket where I have my little taser and approach the door. I slowly open it and see Trent standing there, "Hey Dee" he smiles waving "Oh Trent" I take a breath of relief. "What can I help you with," I ask letting him inside "Oh well I needed your help with something but you had to leave," he says coming inside "Oh that's right we'll let me just grab my food and we can go to my room," I say and he nods and follows me. "Adenna who was at the door," Amy asks "Oh it's just-" "Oh Trent Tipson" Amy smiles "Oh wow miss Amy I'm surprised you remember me not even Adenna did" Trent smiles "Of course I remember you after all you have that little scar on your left cheek," Amy says and I look over at Trent and what do you know he does have a small scar on his left cheek. "Wow you're really observant mom," Parker says surprised. "Oh right I was going to help Trent with some stuff so is it okay if we go downstairs," I ask "Oh yes of course honey" Amy nods. "Awesome come on Trent," I say grabbing his arm, "So what did you need my help on," I ask going downstairs. "Well I was thinking about when I left and I remembered that before I left you asked me to look something up for you but I had forgotten," he says and I tilt my head in confusion "Really? What did I ask you to look for" I ask "Um The red river killer" he says and my heart drops. "Oh god. Do you know" I ask and he nods slowly. "Then what is it that you needed my help on," I ask "Um.....I haven't told DJ yet.....but I think that your dad might be connected with Dante's disappearance," he says and I feel my heart shatter "What....What do you mean" I am tears streaming down my face. "Um, I was....I was doing some digging because two people kept popping up around you and Dante so....I have the pictures....and could you identify him" Trent asks and I feel my heart being stomped on. "J.. Just give me a minute please" I whisper and sit down "Of course take your time I'm going to go back upstairs and use the bathroom," he says and leaves. I look down at my shaking hands, could this all be my fault, I don't understand I did what Sage told me to do so my dad shouldn't have known about Dante. Dante dealt with him I...I just don't understand. I sob my whole body shaking what is going on here why. Why does he want to ruin my life I'm his daughter he should love me and not want me to be anything like him. *Knock knock* I look up jumping a little bit "Hey. You okay" DJ says coming downstairs "Do you know as well," I ask "Um. Trent just told me," he says sitting down beside me. "Then no. No, I am not okay I might be the reason why he's dead. Just because I won't be like him" I sniffle "What do you mean" DJ asks "Before my dad was almost caught. He wanted me to come with him he said that I have to continue his legacy. He says that it's in my blood I will not be able to run from it forever. That if I don't join him he will keep everyone away from me until I join him. Until I am just like him" I sigh and I feel DJ wrap his arm around me. "I...It's okay I...I won't let that happen" he says and then feel his body shaking "I'm sorry" I sniffle "For what" he asks "You're not good with physical touch" I say "It's okay for you I'll try to get used to it" he says and I smile softly. "Thank you, DJ. I think I can do this now" I say taking a deep breath .
