Chapter 16: "Broken Glass"

Harry's POV

I woke up in a content mood and as I opened my eyes, realized who was fast asleep in my arms, a smile spread on my lips.

My arms were circling her stomach so I pulled her closer to me and pressed a kiss on her neck.

She sighed, a sleepy sound but she pressed herself closer to me, so I knew she was awake now.

"How are you feeling?" I whispered in her ear.

"Bliss" Helen murmured.

"Guess, we're both on the same page" I saw the corner oh her mouth lift upward in a smile after my words.

She turned around to face me and we just looked at each other silently for a moment.

I stroked her cheek softly and then did the same with her lips.

"I love you" and I leaned in to kiss her, but of course after like two seconds my cellphone started ringing.

I wanted to ignore it but Helen told me I should answer, that I never knew who needed me.

So I regretfully got off the bed and the comfort of Helen's warmth to try to find my cellphone... which was in one of the pockets in my pants.

It ringed and it ringed until I pressed the answer button and put it next to my ear.

"Hello?" I greeted, I had forgotten to read the caller I.D.

"Mate! I finally found you! Dude I don't know how to say this, it's terrible... but your apartment is being consumed by flames, it's on fire" Louis was very hesitant in his words but I had gotten the message.

"What? How?" I was pretty much in shock.

"No one knows lad. Where are you? God I was so scared that you were in there! I'm glad you're okay..." then he went silent.

"I'm at Helen's Louis. I'll be right there... did someone called the fire department?" I asked.

"Yeah, one of your neighbors saw lots of smoke and called them" he explained.

"Good. Alright. See you in a bit" then I hung up.

I faced Helen and saw her alarmed expression.

"Everything alright. My apartment caught fire but they're putting it off. I gotta go see the damage".

"I'll come with you" she seemed determined but I didn't want her anywhere that could be dangerous.

"No. You stay here. I'm just going to see how bad it is and I'll come back here okay? I won't take long" I said.

"But Harry" she started.

"No princess. I want you here, where you're safe and sound okay?" she wasn't happy but I knew she would listen to me.

"Just call me if anything" I nodded at her words.

"I love you".

"I love you too" she said and pressed her mouth to mine.

I found my shirt and shoes and walked out the door.

I parked at the front building from my house and got out of the car.

I quickly spotted Louis and I jogged towards him.

"Mate, it's good to see you" he was going to give me a hug but stopped. I guess he realized it still wasn't out of my mind that he kissed Helen. To be honest, I don't know how long it would take me to forgive him for that.
