Zayn's POV

The loud ringing of my phone woke me up. I blindly reached with my hand towards the night table and explored the surface until I felt my phone. I took it and answered, placing it against my ear afterwards.

"It's too fucking early for a social call. This better be good" I grumbled, my eyes still closed.

"It's Georgia" I heard through the speaker. That definitely woke me up. I sat up on my bed.

"Why are you calling?" I asked slowly.

"Harry's gone. His friends tell me he's preparing a surprise for me but I don't believe them. Are you with Helen?" she asks.

"You do realize it's Saturday right? It's my day off" I say full of annoyance. How is it my damn problem if her stupid little boyfriend disappears?

"So? I told you to keep an eye on her!" she shrieked. I rolled my eyes at the phone and sighed.

"She's sleeping. Right here next to me" I mumbled.

I heard a distorted laugh from the line. That girl is plain creepy.

"Good job, Zayn. Very good job indeed. Sleeping with the enemy. That's genius!" Georgia praised. I literally had to bite my tongue to not reply to that statement.

"Can I go back to sleep now?" I asked, a bit exasperated.

"Of course, of course. Just keep the eyes on that bitch all day would you? It's Harry's birthday today" then she said a couple of more stuff that I didn't listen to because I tuned her out and then she hung up.

I laid back in bed and turned to the side, looking at the empty space beside me.

"How I wish she were really here with me" I murmured, closing my eyes.

Then Georgia's words nagged at me, successfully preventing me from going back to sleep. I thought about it for a few minutes before I decided to call Helen. She answered after a few rings.

Helen's POV

"Morning!" I chirped.

"Morning beautiful" Zayn's deep morning voice came through the speakers; despite myself and my mood, I smiled.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of getting a morning call?" I asked, a tone of playfulness in my voice.

"Oh nothing really. I was just wondering if you wanted to do something today?" he asked, a smile clearly could be heard attached to his words.

I hesitated a moment.

"I'm sorry, Zayn. I just... I'm really not in the best of moods today. I woke up kind of gloomy and I just want to be alone for a while, you know?" I said honestly.

"The more reason to hang out. I hate when you're upset Helen. Why don't you let me cheer you up?" he pleaded.

I let out a soft sigh.

"I really want to be alone today, Zayn. Please understand" I said gently.

He was silent for so long that I thought he had hung up, but then he spoke, "This doesn't have anything to do with us kissing the other night does it? Because it doesn't have to be weird between us, I promise" he assured.

I let out a chuckle remembering that specific event.

"Trust me, it has nothing to do with that at all. I promise" I reassured.

I heard a relieved breath from his end, "Well that's good to hear. I was kind of nervous about how you would deal with that. I'm glad everything is fine between us, no weirdness involved" he said.
