The Lost Gems

Epilogue

    After discovering the new powers of the gem staff we moved the bodies of Genieth and The Grey woman into the main hall to show the mutants that their leader had fallen. As a group of six we moved into the base temporarily. There was a neighboring village only two miles from the base that we hoped to settle into and rebuild. Clay and Rod had stepped up and taken control of the mutants. We were able to use the gem staff on the mutants and were able to restore them to pure. Even though their core was onyx stone without the Onyx lord they were no longer evil. They were able to learn and we used their numbers and strengths to rebuild Mineral. Rod and Clay had established a working community within the base and had the mutants serve as rescue teams in hopes to restore the civilian population.

There have been no signs of evil since the day we saw the Onyx lord dissolve in thin air. We strive to teach the importance of each stone and create a new meaning for the onyx stone. The mutants lived amount us as everyday people and we didn't want the others to think differently of them. We wouldn't be where we were today without them.

For us remaining Gems, our people looked up to us. We were apart of the original 13. We appointed Sal leader of the Gems. Even though our people knew we were all equals. We sent out teams in hopes to find survivors. We were able to locate and save 52 people so far. Each one revealing a beautiful eye color as we used the gem staff on them. We still had a long road ahead of us but we were able to create a safe haven while restoring our planets back to colors.

Sal and I were able to start a life of our own. Once our village was suitable to live in Sal and I took a main house. We became parents to a beautiful baby girl with blue eyes. We named her Breccia after my sister. As well as a baby on the way. Sal spent his days teaching Breccia and she loves hearing stories about how he lost his eye fighting to save our planet. Sal has proven to be an amazing leader and governs the village and the base. He established law and order within our new community.

Diamond and Clay lived in the base. Clay works in the base as the constable and Diamond works as our nurse and caregiver and travels between the base and village. She adopted a 3 year old we found on a rescue mission. And Clay and her are raising him as their own. He received bright green eyes. Diamond teaches the importance of herbs and natural remedies such as the healing leaves.

Tanz and Rod live in the village next to Sal and I. Rod is leader of the rescue missions, he plans to soon expand our searches in hopes of finding new people. Tanz and I spend our days tending to the village garden and livestock. We are in charge of providing the food for our people. Tanz and Rod are excited and expecting a baby as well.

Everyone has a place in the village, with growing numbers daily we are proud. Diamond, Tanz, and I meet weekly to talk,sew, and mend clothes while always remembering how important we are to each other. We are happy here. We earned a piece of our happy ending. It wasn't an easy journey but in the end it paid off. We have pride in what we do and even though life isn't perfect we continue to restore our planet. We hoped one day we would find the truth about the three other gems hoping they were alive but for now we never forgot where we came from or who we were. We are the lost gems.
