After what seemed like hour and hours of talking Sal and I started to get hungry. We decided that we would go to the supermarket and look for food. It had stopped raining half an hour ago but it was still really muddy out. Thankfully we both had boots on. We walked into the store through the pried open door. Sal must have had to pry through to get into the store. Most of the food here was either rotted or moldy because it hasn't been restocked in 9 years. We went into the dry and boxed food aisle. I found a box of pancake mix and figured that it was still ok because it was just powder. We found a case of water and put it in Sals book bag and headed back home. We made pancakes and that's when the girls finally woke up at five. They woke up confused.

"Good morning flowers." I said to the girls with a wink.

They started walking towards the table eyeing the strange male who was standing to my left.

"Who's this?" Tanz growled. She wasn't much of a morning person.

"This is my husband Sal!" I lied. And Sal threw his arms around me and hugged me."I'm just joking this is Sal we met this morning after I accidentally attacked him."

"Yea no marriage here, We just met. But don't worry I'm one of you." He said gesturing to his dark blue eyes.

"Whoa so you say your a gem too?" Diamond questioned.

"Yes my birthday is in September and I have colorful eyes.. See no grey just like you guys."

"I'm not sure if we should trust him Aqua. He just showed up out of nowhere." Tanzanite chimed in.

"Well so did the onyx. They just showed up one day out of the blue and killed everyone that wasn't "special" like us we still have no idea why. Maybe they are planning to capture us or maybe they are leading us all into a trap. We don't know but the least we can do is stick together!" I yelled.

"How do u know he's safe tho!" Tanz said pointing right to him.

"Would he have stitched up my hand and wrapped it in bandages if he wasn't safe or would he have helped make you breakfast if he wasn't safe! Tanz I have a good feeling about him, we can trust him I promise."

We sat down at the table and finished our pancakes. The four of us introduced ourselves and talked. Diamond had warmed up to Salvatore but you could tell that Tanz was still on the fence about him. I wasn't mad though she was just the oldest and worried about everything and wanted to keep us safe as possible. Sal told us more about the onyx and why they were after us. He told us the main leader of Onyx is Genieth. He was born in January and was a Gem, born with colorful eyes. January's stone is garnet and the darkest of the birthstones. Therefore he was born with the darkest heart. He was jealous and wanted to be the only special gem, his plan was to kill the remaining 11. He knew that he wouldn't be able to kill us right away so he punished and killed the people who had protected us and kept us safe from him. He had an army of mutants working on his side each the same in strength and wits. It was going to take a lot to take him down. We had never seen him nor did Sal, all we knew was that he had dark red eyes. Sal agreed to come along with us and fight.

It was now 6 a.m and had stopped raining. We decided to head out of the town after Diamond and Tanz were ready. We found a blacksmith as we were headed out and we all grabbed a weapon. I grabbed a trident. Sal grabbed an axe, Tanz grabbed a sword and Diamond picked up some throwing knives just in case we ran into trouble or the mutants.

We wandered into the woods. I looked back at the village trying to remember its location just incase we ever needed to go back. The cabin we stayed in was much nicer than our home.

"Where are we planning on going?"Diamond questioned.

"There should be a larger village around here we can look around and see if there is anything good." Sal assured.he looked at me and grinned.

I had to admit Sal was very attractive. He had perfectly dark blue eyes and dark brown hair. Not to mention his muscular body. He was very sentimental and you could tell he has also been through a lot. Diamond, Tanz, and I had never had boyfriends. Everyone was taught to protect us but to never get to close because we were different. People didn't avoid us and they always helped but they were also scared so they didn't get socially involved with us. We had a lonely childhood other than each other and our family's. It never bothered us though because we were happy, well at least up until our family's deaths. Tanzanite had a younger sister and Diamond had a younger brother and we all considered each other family. Maybe we could add Sal into our family.

"How is your hand holding up?" Tanz worried.

"It's really good actually! It only stings once in a while. And to think it was almost healed and then I re-opened it by hitting the lantern!" I laughed."At least Sal had the guts to stitch it up."

We continued to walk through the woods. We made small talk and were enjoying our time with someone new sharing old stories and even hearing some knew ones. times like this were nice where we could just have a laugh about something and not worry.
