"You!" I screamed as I grabbed Tanz's sword as I moved toward the mutant, he started to shift backwards. "You put out the fire and almost killed us with the smoke! Why would you do that!"I screamed as I held the blade to his throat. "Who are you!"

"M..my name is Clay."he stammered."I'm so sorry. I was just walking by and saw the fire and it was instinct to put it out."

Sal came up behind me and put his hand on my shoulder but I shook it off. I needed to get answers from Clay.

"Where did you come from and why was it instinct to put out the fire?"

"I came from Onyx. I am what they call a mutant. We were created by Genieth from the black Onyx stone and programmed to kill and destroy."

I started to back away from him not realizing at first that he could be dangerous to us. He didn't look dangerous though, he looked around 17 years old and had dirty blonde hair. He was thin but fit and spoke in a soothing tone that made me believe he was harmless. He had cold grey eyes.

"Why are you telling us this, if you are working for the bad side?" I questioned him.

" I escaped. Me and my friend Rod snuck past the master mutants who were protecting the gate from where we lived at three days ago... But Rod didn't make it they found out we had escaped and sent guards to search for us. We had walked hours away from the Onyx base and decided to rest when it had gotten dark. We must not have walked far enough because during the night while we were sleeping they found us." He started to trail off and tears began to gather in the corner of his eyes. He paused before starting again." His scream woke me up and I knew by the sound of it that it wasn't good. I jumped to my feet and started to sprint away, it broke my heart leaving my best friend but he wasn't going to make it and I knew that he would have wanted me to do what I had done."

"How long have you been working for the Onyx?" Diamond questioned Clay.

" I have been alive for 17 years now. I was created in the base by the Onyx stone and there are hundreds of mutants like me. New batches being created each year. Some of us aren't 100% evil though and there was a glitch in our making. Rod and I were those very few that had good in us. The others who also had a good heart failed to escape the base, Rod and I were the first ever to escape. I never agreed with the views and jealousy of Genieth but me and Rod had to blend in and go with everyone else until our escape plan was flawless without any mistakes so we were certain to escape alive. We finally had the guts and the perfect plan to escape after being there for our whole lives. We had never met Genieth in our time at the base we only ever heard his voice. He was not a personable man and very self involved. All the other mutants worshiped him and his evil schemes while Rod and I were always secretly planning his downfall."

"So you are on the good side?" Sal eagerly questioned Clay.

Clay shook his head yes and shook Sals hand.

"You can trust me, I will help you take down Genieth and punish him for all he did to the innocent people and the specials." He gave a heartwarming but serious smile."I can even help you get to the base I know all the secrets."

I agreed with Clay and his proposal. Would Tanz approve though? She stood to the left of me and hadn't said a single word. She was never this quiet. Did she believe that he was lying or was she just tired and uncomfortable from sleeping on the woods floor all day. I planned on talking to the girls soon about the new members of our group. I had full trust in Sal, and hoped that we could learn to trust Clay but I wasn't too sure if Tanz and Diamond were.

I gave Tanzanite back her sword and sat down. A lot had happened in the past half hour and I was fully awake and aware of everything. Sal sat down beside me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder while Tanz and Diamond went to talk and introduce themselves to Clay. He was taller than all of us girls but still shorter than Sal. He was muscular which made sense considering he came from Onyx and was made to fight. His pale skin made him look like he hadn't seen the sunlight in years and his pale grey eyes made him appear lifeless. I looked closely at the side of his body he was wearing a black t-shirt with tan cargo pants and black boots. My eyes shifted to his left bicep and his neck. He had red scars all along his skin. I couldn't imagine what it must had been to live there all his life and not agree with what everyone else was doing but couldn't say something about it because you would be killed. Maybe the whip marks were a test for strength or maybe he had disobeyed and been punished, which ever it was I'm sure it was painful and a burden to live with. My thought were interrupted by Sal.

"How are you doing Aqua?" Sal whispered into my ear as he removed his arm from my shoulder.

"I'm good. Just shooken up from the smoke which reminded me of my parents, that's all." I replied while playing with the wrap on my left hand. " look my hand isn't as puffy anymore and isn't oozing!" I said with a half smile and half disgust look.

Sal was now being quiet and I had looked up to see his dark blue eyes staring into mine. He had a smirk on his face and fluttered his eyebrows.

"Stop staring at me like that." I blushed as I tried to shift Sals glance off of me by waving my hands in front of his face.

"I can't though your too mesmerizing." Sal cooed in his deep calming voice.

I had nothing to say I only let out a laugh at how silly he sounded calling me beautiful. I had only met him two nights ago in the rain but could tell that he was something special, something I didn't want to loose...Someone I wanted to love.

Will Clay live up to his promise? Will he ditch the group and totally blindside them? Or could Clay have some secret evilness In him that could effect the group and possibly ruin the plan?~Ellsa
