March 5th, 1034

I was walking down a dark tunnel. It was lined with torches that gave off an eerie red glow. I had been walking for about ten minutes now and had lost Tanz and Diamond. I kept walking and hoped to soon see the end of the tunnel, but still nothing. I didn't know why I was in the tunnel. Spiders crawled out from every little crevice and then climbed up the walls. Usually I would be frozen in fear but this time I just kept walking the spiders didn't seem to phase me. Only the voices being whispered behind me did, and every time I turned around nobody was there, just a never ending tunnel. The voices grew louder but I still couldn't understand them. I kept walking. The voices grew more clear and were talking faster and louder. I didn't realize it but I started to speed up and started to fast walk. The words 'onyx mon melanite' were being repeated by a cold stern voice behind me. Before I knew it I was running and the torches that I passed were blown out causing it to be darker. The words kept repeating faster and louder until they started to slur together in an echo. I couldn't get them out of my head but I continued to run. The voice sounded as if it was right behind me until I swore it was so loud it was in my head. I couldn't handle it and my legs were about to give. The shouting in my ear and fatigue in my leg pushed me to my limit. Before I knew it I had tripped and fell smashing the rock hard floor. Coldness and a stinging pain ran up my elbow. All the torches seemed to blow out one by one from the loud screams of the voice until the tunnel was completely dark....

Boom!..crackle!

I jolted up from out of my sleep. I looked around the dark room to see what made the noise realizing that I was in the safety of a village home and not in the tunnel. It was raining out and thunder and lightning filled the room. My first thought was why is it raining in the beginning of March it is only the 5th it's supposed to be snowing. The weather has been out of sorts lately and we have no clue why. I look around the room and see that Diamond and Tanz are still asleep. It is only about 2 in the morning. I lay back down in my bed but can't seem to fall asleep. I grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around myself and left the room after grabbing my boots. I go out to the porch, luckily it has a roof so I can still be outside without getting rained on. The air is warm and moist. Not our typical March night. I grabbed a chair and sat down. Storms always seemed to interest me and they never scared me. Before my family was gone we all used to always go run out and play in storms or the rain, the memory was bittersweet. I stared out into the village it was small only about 23 buildings, it had the general buildings a small school house a, supermarket, a tailors, the library and a few others. I looked over by the little tailors house that was next to the library. I rubbed my eyes and continued to stare. I thought I saw a shadowy figure each time the lightning cracked and lit the town. I kept staring at the building, the shadow didn't move it looked almost human like. Could someone have survived the evacuation and was living here for nine years alone? My curiosity got the best of me.

I stood up from the chair and set the blanket down and put on my rubber boots. It was pitch black out besides the few bright streaks of lightning that guided me. I made my way down the stairs slowly. The supermarket building was big so I walked behind that so it would keep me covered. When I got to the end of the market I jumped right behind a house which was right in front of the shadowy figure. I looked around the front of the house to get a better view of the figure. Lightning flashed. The figure was gone. I was confused and rather scared. I turned back to the house. I felt exposed now that I didn't know where the shadow went. I huddled behind a store when I saw the figure again it was making its way towards a cabin. Our cabin! I instantly stood up and started sprinting towards the figure.

"No! No please!" I screamed out to the shadow. In fear that they were going to do something to Diamond and Tanz while they were sleeping.

The figure whipped around and started slowly walking towards me. I wanted to run but my legs wouldn't move. I slowly backed up frozen in fear. Then I hit something hard behind me.

"No!"I said to myself realizing that I had been corned up against what seemed to be the town doctors.

I had no where to go. I didn't see a door, it must have been on the other side. I went to go check but it was to late. The figure stood only a few feet away from me. I wanted to scream but nothing came out. The figure inched closer. It was a person I could tell now. They were around 6 feet tall which towered over me. I suddenly felt very small even though I was 5'5. I reached my hand out without even thinking and punched their shoulder followed by a kick between the legs. They groaned and fell to their knees. I wanted to run away but again my curiosity got the best of me. I bent down to the figure and ripped off his hood. I gasped when I saw the glossy colors on his face. My stomach dropped in disbelief.
