When Tanzanite, Diamond and I were around the age of seven we used to go on "adventures". We ransacked our mothers closets and met in our treehouse which was down the street hidden in the woods that people avoided. Tanz and Diamond lived on each side of my house we were always together and grew up like sisters. We met up in the treehouse almost everyday after school. We drew pictures, had fashion shows, and pretended to go on dangerous quests and challenges. We'd dress like princesses, Cowboys, and dragons, your typical childhood characters. Sometimes one of us would ''die" or get hurt on these adventures. Some of our quests would end in failure and some of them would end in a total success. We were really creative as children and looked at the world in a positive way besides the fact that us three were different. We used our imagination and each other to ignore the fact that we weren't like other people.

Never did I imagine that we would go on one of these journeys in real life or have to go through loosing someone along the way. We already had lost our families and now I had lost Sal.

This wasn't one of our happy successful adventures, this was full of sadness and disappointment. We had been trying so hard to make things right again and all we get is a huge slap in the face.

I knelt down on the cold wet grass and stared down into the hole. The water remained still and untouched. Thousand of questions raced through my head about what had just happened. Was Sal still alive? How did he just disappear without a trace? Has there been some type of magic that we have been blind to our whole entire lives? I needed to stop assuming the worst. I was shocked and confused and by the look of it so was everyone else. No one could explain what had just happened only the fact that Sal had just vanished out of thin air.

I collapsed into a big pile of tears after minutes of just sitting and staring. My heart literally fell into tiny pieces. I was starting to fall in love with him and that now came to an end. Every Time one of us are happy life throws a problem at us and we loose what we had. Couldn't things just go right for once?

After lots of tears I decided to get up. I looked at Tanz and Diamond who's eyes were also red and puffy from crying, even Rod and Clay were feeling a loss.

I wrapped my arms around Tanz and Diamond. They hugged me back. They reassured me and told me everything was going to be okay. I didn't believe a single word they said but it still comforted me to know that they cared, and that was all that mattered. It scared me when more bodies came at me from the back but I soon calmed down after realizing that it was just Clay and Rod hugging me from behind. All five of us stood there hugging for a few seconds, as cheesy as it seemed we needed this hug as we needed each other.

Silence soon crept over us and Clay decided that we should probably get to sleep.we searched around the area and quickly found an over hang to sleep under. We quickly set up and we all slept in a row I was in the middle of Tanz and Diamond. I was to tired to even think let alone grieve about the loss of Sal and before I knew it I drifted off to sleep.

We woke up to the song of birds. It was really peaceful and beautiful. I wish every morning could be like this. Then the events of yesterday dawned on me and put a pit in my stomach.

It became more and more difficult for us to walk each day due to the lack of food and water. We needed to look around the area for anything that was edible.

We had walked in a direction that seemed somewhat familiar to Clay and Rod. Somehow we had stumbled upon a tree that was full of Apples, I wondered how they were growing considering it was March but just pushed away that thought. We needed anything we could eat so we all grabbed handfuls of the crisp apples and ate every last bit of them.

The tree was wide and full of fresh fruit. There were other trees like it around but this tree had the best looking fruit. We filled each of our bags with as many apples as possible. We were feeling much better and now had the strength to keep on walking.

I had been keeping track of the date on a piece of paper in my backpack. Today was the 10th, tomorrow I will be turning 18. I was really hoping on celebrating my birthday with Sal but the circumstances have changed. I didn't want anyone to feel bad that we weren't going to celebrate me turning 18 so I planned on keeping silent and not reminding Tanz or Diamond. I wouldn't want them to carry the extra burden of them trying to pull together the perfect day.

We kept on walking.

"We are almost there guys." Clay called back to us.

"Wait where are we going? The base is still along ways to go." I asked.

"We need to get those flowers we had talked about. They will be a huge help in the base." Clay answered.

They led us to a giant field. There were flowers everywhere. So many varieties. Pinks and blues and yellows and orange but I didn't see any purple flowers. I got confused.

"Clay and I can't go in and help you guys look because if we do then we could die because we are already so weak." Rod stated. "Here give me something to write on I'll draw what the flower looks like."

Without even thinking I grabbed the paper I had written the days on and gave it to Rod. I was rummaging through my bag to find the pencil when I heard Rod.

"Aqua why didn't you tell us it was your Birthday tomorrow?" He said while pointing to the paper I accidentally gave him.

I felt bad for not telling them.

"Oh it's no big deal, I didn't say anything because I didn't want you guys to stress over it." I said like it was no big deal.

"Well it's going to be your special day tomorrow." Clay said.

I nodded and laughed. I couldn't ask for better friends. After I found the pencil Rod took it and sketched out the flower. It was the same exact thing as a violet and had Fancy looking petals. We emptied out two of our bags and combined them with the others.

We started walking through the field. When I got closer I saw a few purple flowers but none of them matched the drawing Rod gave us. The three of us split up leaving Tanz without a bag. I came across many pretty flowers like Daisys, pansies, and daffodils but no purple violas.

We had been searching for around an hour by now. The air was hot and the constant walking and bending down to look at flowers wasn't helping.

Finally just as I was about to loose hope I heard an excited but tired Diamond yell.

"Guys I found a patch!" She squealed.

I quickly walked over and we filled two bags full of the flowers. Rod and Clay were right, they really did have a strong sent. A little too strong.

We called to Tanz and she slowly made her way to the edge of the flower patch. We showed Rod and Clay the two bags full and they gave us a thumbs up while plugging their noses so the flowers wouldn't effect them.

We walked until it got dark out, we found a decent spot to sleep and ate the remaining apples leaving only five left so we could each have one in the morning. We soon drifted off too sleep, exhausted from our long day.
