Rebekah took it upon herself to fly back to New Orleans alone.
She wanted to give the lovers some time for themselves to talk about the huge step that they just took together.
I guess becoming a vampire to seal their fate should be classified as the biggest step of all, but with everything that's been going on Klaus was thinking about putting a ring on it the whole time and that is what meant the most to her.
The pair decided to drive back home instead of flying so that they could soak up the extra time together. Of course, Klaus drove while Nora kept her eyes on him most of the time.
She was excited, for the first time in a while she was happy about the future, instead of fearing it. It had felt like a million fireworks had been let off inside of her, still.
The first person whom she called to break the news to was none other than her best friend, of course.
Vicky was obviously ecstatic about the news, and begged Nora to fly her down demanding that astral projection was not enough and that she needed to see the ring in person after how much Nora hyped it up. Nora assured her, and also told her that she has no choice but to be her maid of honor, considering her lack of friends.
Viv has a 4-year-old daughter of her own, Elyse, who Nora has not had the pleasure to meet yet. Though, Vicky stressed that now maybe her and Klaus could pop pout a few kids so that they could grow up to know one another...but Nora kindly reminded her that technically her and Klaus are dead, and kids might not be in their cards.
Regardless, she was happy for them.
The ride was quiet for a long while in the car, but the pair held hands over the middle console during the silence. Klaus looked over at her and saw her reflection staring hard out the window deep in thought. He squeezed her hand tighter before asking what she was thinking about, and she turned her head over to look at him.
"Nothing..." He watched as she forced a smiled and turned her head back to look out of her window again. "I'm happy."
"I know when you're not behind honest with me, you're my wife." He stated, and she turned back to look at him with a small smile, a real one.
"I am happy, sometimes I just wish that we could enjoy it more. I know that you're probably not going to get married until Marcel is dealt with."
"We will wed in the winter, in the early morning just as you wish. No matter what." He was final, and her hand tightened around his as she sighed in relaxation turning to look out the window. He always knew how to ease her mind.
She had turned just a minute too late, and she saw a silver SUV truck coming straight towards them on her side. The speed at which the car was accelerating towards them, she knew whoever was behind the wheel was going to hit them.
"Kla-" Was all she was able to get out before they were t-boned.
Nora was immediately ejected out of the car due to her not having a seatbelt on, while Klaus was crushed in the impact.
He heard the sound of metal crashing and clanking which caused him to slowly flutter his eyes open. His movements picked up as he saw that Nora wasn't in the car with him and he looked around quickly.
"Nora? Nora!"
Little did he know Nora's body had flown over one hundred feet in the air, and was now contorted up in a tree, lifeless.
But he heard the swooshing of a vampire coming up next to him, and assumed it was her until he was ripped out of the car with a strong force.
"No, I'm not here for her, I'm here for you."
