Rebekah had left, and now I was left to do my make-up by myself.
My skin didn't really have any flaws, so I put on mascara and lip gloss, the two most simplest things. I left my hair down and curled, taking some of the pieces that dangled in my face, and pinned them behind my head using a champagne colored sparkly clip that Rebekah loaned to me, and I was grateful because it matched my dress.
Yes, dress. They weren't my favorite, but since all of the boys were going to be in suits, who not. I slid the dress on, and smiled when I saw the way it looked on me. It was long, but not poufy. It more of a silk material, and it had some sparkle at the top, that faded into nothing. The big slit that went up my left leg had me sold.
I sprayed a light spritz of perfume, and sat on the vanity stool to put my shoes on. They were simple, black heels. I wasn't the best at walking in them, but the straps made it easier and they couldn't be over three inches tall.
I wanted this dinner to work, and not end up in a bloodbath for a change. Marcel was enough to deal with on his own, and now is the time when we needed the most allies. Not making more enemies. Despite our differences, I could get along with her if it was for just this night. I turned around to face the door when I heard it creak open. I was half expecting Kol to pop his head in again, but I was satisfied when a different brunette popped up.
"The guests are here." I smiled at his warm eyes, before turning around completely but I guess my shoes got caught on the bottom of my dress. I went to take a step, and my body lunged forward as my heel got snagged on the fabric. My stomach dropped, but I felt a wash of relief when I was able to grab onto Elijah's forearm.
"We can't have you breaking a leg before you get down there." I looked up at him with wide eyes, before laughing at myself. I shook my head.
"I haven't walked in heals, in years." I grabbed the bottom of my dress with one hand, and held onto his arm tightly with the other. He looked down at me, and I starred at him before he said anything.
"I'm ready when you are." I gave him a reassuring nod, and as soon as we stepped out of the room I could hear them, well her.
"Your lover won't be joining us for dinner, how awful. I was looking forward to getting to know her." I was already irritated, and I hadn't even seen her face yet. But today, I'm going to keep my cool, for them.
"Oh, I'm sure the feeling is mutual." I smiled to myself at Klaus's remark as we took the right out of the room, and walked down the hall until we were met with the stairs. I could feel all eyes on us, but my eyes gravitated towards Niklaus.
His little bow tie matched the color of my dress, and for a moment I forgot that we were having a dinner, the second his head turned to meet mine and our eyes locked it was like an epic love moment that happened over and over again. The feeling never being any less heightened. I felt Elijah tug on my arm, pulling me down the steps, snapping me out of my trance. I smiled at him, as he did to me.
I watched Aroura as I took every step after that, and she looked the complete opposite of me. She had a big long black dress on, while her hair was big and teased. She only gave me a look of sarcasm, and I directed my attention else where. When we reached the bottom, Elijah didn't let go of me until we neared the table, and her brother approached me immediately, Tristan I assume.
He had brown hair, and his eyes were a gray blue, that matched his gray suit.
"Nora Parker." He said, while talking a step closer to me. He looked deeply into my eyes as he spoke. "It's an honor to meet the first tribrid in history." He grabbed my hand, and kissed it slowly. I hated being known as just, the tribrid. I wanted people to know me, not just what I was.
