One Year Later...
Even though Freya was a relatively new member of the family, she wasn't giving up on them. She searched high, and low for a way to wake the two brothers. Of course, she had the help of Rebekah, and Nora's help would be useful too, but when word got around, and as stories floated back to them, they knew that she didn't just leave to clear her head, or to get a grip back on reality. She was gone, and it seemed like she was taking on Klaus's legacy.
Rebekah wanted to find her, Nora had become the only friend she was able to make, and keep in over a thousand years, but if she wasn't willing, what could she do?
For six months they heard the stories, for six months they tried to find a cure, for six months Rebekah stayed by Freya's side. But every lead turned up being a dead end, and she was unfortunately giving up.
"There's always a loophole." Freya would remind her, when the hope ran out, but after six months she gave up. After six months of false hope, she had finally walked away.
With Rebekah gone, it was easy for Freya to loose hope too, but she didn't. She didn't blame her for leaving, but she was still going to practice what she preached. Every body deals with grief in different ways, but she didn't know where she was to begin with. A part of her assumed that she went to find Nora, but they didn't quite know where she was either.
Add another six months, and she finally found a break, the light at the end of the tunnel. All she needed was to find the last wolf of the Guerrero pack, and get their venom for the cure. She almost couldn't believe that this was it, a year of work, she almost expected it to go on forever.
She fumbled with her cell phone, and watched as her hands shook trying to dial her number.
"Keelin!" She screamed, and she soon arrived in the room with her. On fourth ring, the call was connected.
"R-Rebekah, I did it, we almost have the cure." She forced the words out, and watched as Keelin's eyes were wide as quarters.
"I'm in California right now." Her eyes darted around the well known scenery around her, as she felt the air leave her body. "But I'll be there." The line disconnected, and Rebekah held the phone to her chest. Tears brimmed her eyes, and she nodded her head.
This was not the end of the Mikaelson's.
