|nora's pov|
I let Rebekah lead the way, as I walked shortly behind her through the middle of the city.
I think that over the years, the jazz music that played without fail, the tourists, the art, the lifestyle; it all grew on me. This city somehow grew on me, without me even realizing it. Overtime, it was clear to me that I'm not just fighting because it's in Klaus' best interest. It became mine too.
My eyes scanned over the scenery of set up paintings, and crystal jewels in the brief moments before I passed them. Not only admiring the artwork, but the people who created it.
"Bex, where Uhm-where exactly are we going?" I finally peeped up behind her.
"We are going to eat." She said, emphasizing the 'T'.
My walk stuttered as her swift motions abruptly stopped and she turned around to look at me, and the crowd of the town around us.
"Go ahead, pick your poison." She said, looking right through me.
"No Rebekah. Not here." I said with a straight face, to which she only smiled at.
"Of course, not out in the open." Her mouth hung open looking amongst all of the humans.
"What about him?" She asked, pointing behind me in the opposite direction. I turned my head to follow her up, and my eyes aligned up with hers.
"Brunette, brown eyes, nice style.." She silently stalked him. "Do you reckon his hair is as soft as it looks?"
Before giving me a chance to answer her question, she was already off to get her fix. I scoffed, shaking my head at her manic mind. I personally do not care about the shell of my food, I'm only interested in their blood.
"Oops my bad, I'm sorry."
I heard the feminine voice, after I felt a slight pull back on my shoulder.
I looked over at the woman, my mind blanking as I did so.
Her short, blunt blonde hair, and the floral print blouse doesn't really fit in with the the city chic. Which makes me believe that she's most-likely a tourist.
"Oh, It's okay." I said with a half smile, grabbing into her arm. "Just follow me."
She only squinted her eyes, tilting her head down at me in confusion.
"And why would I do that?" She double blinked, nervously laughing at me, and I froze.
I could feel my heart beating in my stomach, this has never happened to me before. The only people who can't be compelled, are other supernatural beings.
"Right..Um." I didn't know what to do, other than to look back at her with the same nervous look she gave me. Until Rebekah popped up behind her, making me feel a little less awkward.
It also didn't take long for me to recognize the brunette man lingering behind her, like a lost dog.
"It's her bracelet, It reeks of vervain."
Rebekah said with a straight face, as my eyes adverted down to the grapevine woven bracelet on her fair wrist.
"Sorry." I said looking into her eyes, half heartedly. I knew that she would still be able to live her life after this. In Rebekah's case, she's not so nice.
"Oh, ah!"
The burn felt like needles ripping into my fingertips, as I struggled the bracelet off, letting it fall to the ground. I looked down at my shaky hands, watching them heal, before resuming the interaction.
