Nora couldn't stop looking down at the little black box in her hand.
Excitement laced with paranoia raced through her now realizing that she was the holder of the cure, and any vampire who wanted a do-over would now be coming after her on top of the problems that they already have at home.
She floored her car, drifting it out of the parking lot due to how fast she was going, and she only sped up. She hit the gas, flooring it back to Mystic Falls in relatively no time.
She whipped into the parking lot so quickly that she didn't even notice that it was borderline empty compared to how many people were here when she left, and the sun had started to set.
Before she could even get out of the car, she heard Klaus calling her name from outside and she used her vampire speed to exit the car quickly.
Her hair whipped around her face as she looked around, her eyes locking on him.
Right under the column arch, he was exiting the building as she pulled in.
'Nik..' She whispered, and he heard her. Her feet started to carry herself to him, her strides subconsciously becoming faster as she neared him and her arms clung around his neck in relief.
Niklaus squeezed her back, firm yet still gentle. His hands found themselves tangling up in the hair that flowed down her back and she sighed deep into his neck.
"What've you been up to, sweetheart. Rebekah tells me you're acting not yourself, is something wrong?"
He used some force to separate their bodies, so he could look at her in the face and read every emotion he seen.
But to his surprise, she giggled, and he could tell that she was nervous.
She didn't say anything. Instead she slowly pulled the velvet box out of her pocket, and handed it over to him.
He took it, hesitantly. He already knew what was inside the infamous box, but he hesitated in concern and confusion.
"How did you get this?" He spat out rather quickly, without even opening the box.
"I needed it. I promised it as a gift for somebody who I love—and I care about, and I want to see happy."
Now Klaus laughed, peaking his eyes up at her.
"Rebekah. You did all of this for Rebekah?"
"I knew where the cure was all along." She said taking a step closer to him. "When Elena called me, I couldn't push it out of my head anymore. I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that everything she's ever wanted was right under my nose and I didn't anything about it." She said, shaking her head.
He smiled even wider at her, and finally took the leap to open the box. His eyes widened as he examined the magical capsule.
"But I did have to cross a couple people to get my hands on that, so we should really get going, like now."
She nervously laughed pushing some hair behind her ear.
"Nonsense." He said, and Nora furrowed her brows at him. "We are two of the world's most powerful creatures. I bet we'll give them a run for their money."
Her wide smile broke out into a laugh at his joke. "I guess you're right."
"Besides, I haven't gotten a chance to talk to you, not like how I've been yearning too at least."
He looked down and connected their hands softly, slowly walking her out of the building and out onto the patio.
All Nora is, is nervous. She's never seen Klaus scared to say something or bite his tongue when it came to anything needing to be said.
