With every step I took, I only got more annoyed. If they would've just let be, I wouldn't even be walking nor would I be bourbon free.

I walked behind her patiently, and enjoyed the sound of her shoes scathing across the road. Normally this would annoy me, but anything to be close to her.
Under the street lights, I could see her perfectly. Her long brunette hair, that still had a little bit of highlights in it. But the purple streak stuck out to me, and it only made her eyes look greener. She had her hair tucked behind her ear, and I could see the piercing's, clearly. It wasn't too much, but it suited her. Even her walk was different. She'd developed her own character and if it was possible, I left like I was falling in love with her all over again. I enjoyed starring at the back of her head, until she whipped it around, and looked at me angrily.

"If you weren't 'immortal' you'd be dead by now." I spat, putting up air quotes when I said immortal. I turned to look at the road ahead of us, and rolled my eyes. I didn't even know where we were walking, it was just a long lit up road, and I did not plan to walk to my next destination. I watched him start to walk next to me, instead of behind me like a weirdo, and I heard him sigh.
"Then why don't you kill me?" I snapped my eyes up to meet his, and kept a straight face.
"You can't get me a new car, and a bottle if your dead." I said kicking my feet up as we walked, and I heard him chuckle. I glanced at him one more time, and looked him up and down. He noticed, and smirked at me.
"You like what you see?"
"Better than your nuisance of a family, that's for sure." I said, kissing my teeth.
"You loved my nuisance for a family at one point, even sacrificed yourself for them." I stopped in my tracks, and turned to face him. Now I could see him, perfectly under the lights.
"It's not like my memory was erased Klaus, I remember everything, except the feeling." I said crossing my arms over my chest, and looked at him once more. "I couldn't picture myself in love anyways." In this very moment, I couldn't. I couldn't imagine me caring about anything, because if I did then I would have to care about everything. I watched his expression turn serious, and I shrugged my shoulders, when I started to walk again.
"Too soon?" I fake pouted as I kept walking, until I noticed that I didn't hear his footsteps behind me anymore. I turned around, and saw that he was still in the same place as before.
"Why were you leaving New York?" I furrowed my eyebrows, before answering.
"Everything gets boring after a decade or so." As soon as the sentence left my mouth, it was as if his attitude changed. Like he no longer cared, just like me.
"Not Chicago." His smirk alone made me smile, but the sudden change in his demeanor was...suspicious.
"So you mean to tell me that you and your whole family came out here to find me, and all of a sudden you want to join me? You must think I'm some fool." I scoffed and tired to turn around, but stopped when I felt a grip on my forearm.
"Seeing you like this reminds me of the darkest parts of myself, and quite fancy you like this. I've been dead for eight years." He stepped closer to me, and eliminated any space that there was between us. "I can show you how to have real fun, my love."
