Sure, New York was fun for the time being, but I wanted something new, something more. I loved it here, but this was only the beginning. I glanced around the Lux Lounge once more, and decided to order a bourbon for the road.
"Andy, would you be a gentleman and give me the whole bottle, it could be my going away present?" Andy was that compellable human, but he knew that I compelled him. In fact I compelled him not to ingest vervain. Over the years he caught on, and I told him because why the hell not. He took it surprisingly easily, and over the years we developed this 'friendship' unintentionally. I didn't compel him for the bottle, he willingly gave it to me, and I smiled from across the counter.
"Going away gift? You've been a regular for nine years." He asked while handing it over to me with a raised brow and a scoff. I nodded my head, taking the bottle.
"Everything must come to an end." I said looking at his dark brown eyes once more, god everything about him reminded me of Julian. I placed my hands on the counter, and leaned in close. "It was nice knowing you, but forget my face. You are free." Before he could snap out of the trance, I sped out of the bar, and walked to my car swinging open the passenger door. I removed the bottle from the brown paper bag, and tossed it out the window. I rolled my window down, and took a sip from the bottle before pulling out of the parking lot, and driving in the opposite direction. I have no real destination, although Bordeaux sounded interesting.

We were close, too close, close enough that my palms started to get sweaty thinking about seeing her for the first time. Elijah's phone rang in his suit pocket, and I saw that Rebekah was sleeping in the back.
"Answer that phone, Elijah." She croaked, with her eyes still closed. He reached in his front suit pocket, and I saw that Freya's name was on the screen. He picked up the call, and put her on speakerphone.
"She's moving." She blurted out, and I sat up straighter.
"What?"
"She's moving, she's leaving Rochester." I could hear wind in the background, and Keelin talking too.
"Well were coming into Rochester, we'll cross paths." Elijah said, looking out the window, paying closer attention. I watched Rebekah sit up in the rear view mirror, and she furrowed her eyebrows.
"Freya, where are you?" I said, mimicking her expression.
"You guys didn't think I'd let you face an emotionless tribrid all by yourselves, would you?" I heard Rebekah scoff, and I glanced at Elijah.
"I think we can take her by ourselves, if it came down to it." He said, moving the phone closer to him.
"Yeah, not while one of you are in love with her." I felt all eyes on me, and licked my lips, looking out the window, so bloody what. It was dark outside, and my eyes skimmed the surrounding area, when they landed on a black convertible.
"I think..." My voice trailed off, as I rolled down my window, and they all looked out it as well.
"We have to go." Elijah ended the call, and I watched her with my lips slightly parted.
The top on her car was down, and you could hear the music blaring from it miles away. I could barely see her face, as she had dark sunglasses on, but I could see her hair blowing in the wind. Not the color, but how she let it grow out long. She looked so happy, wild, and care free.
"Follow her."
