Y/n's pov

I couldn't sleep,
I couldn't do anything,
I couldn't feel anything.

I stared at the ceiling for hours. My mind could only think of the boy I saw for the first time in months, and I felt physically sick as I recalled what I had said to him.

'You will find moonlit nights strangely empty, because when you call my name through them, there will be no answer.'

I place my weak legs out of bed and walk slowly to the window.
I opened it and it's curtains blew in the wind, along with my nightgown and messy hair.
I settled my hands against the sill of the window and whispered,
"Edmund."
No answer.

And so, I tried again only louder, "Edmund."
No answer.
Again. "Edmund!"
I yelled my voice shaky, cracking.

I suddenly heard the creaks of floorboards and I swiftly turned around,
a gust of wind picked up through the window.
Mum was at my door. "Y/n, do you know what time it is? You should be asleep, honey."
She whispered.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't sleep. I'll be more quiet, I promise." She frowned, "Alright." With that final word,
she left my room, closing the door gently behind her. I waited while the boards creaked,
until they stopped.
I sighed and turned back to the window.

How I wish this window was higher from the ground.

"Goodnight, Ed, My love."
I whispered through cold air.
I left the window open for the rest of the night, hoping Edmund would crawl through it to see me.
He never did.

Last night, it started snowing.
I have the slightest idea when, but I didn't care.
The truth is, I love snow,
it reminds me of Edmund.

I put on slippers and ran down the stairs,
my silky white gown flowing. I walked out the door, ignoring my mother's weary calls.

Once I was outside, I took a good look at the snowy house, then looked at hill and the cluster of buildings below

Once I was outside, I took a good look at the snowy house,
then looked at hill and the cluster of buildings below.
The sparkling snow covered each roof beautifully,
leaving a winter wonderland that would please each and everyone's eyes.

I lie in the snow and stared at the sky,
it looked so blue when it snowed.
It's the only time it ever looks blue anymore.

My mum walked outside and stood above me,
blocking the bright blue sky from my eyes.
"Y/n. You'll catch a cold. Come inside, sweetie." I stared at her blankly.
I didn't reply.
I simply sat up and walked down the hill. "At least, bring your coat!"
I paused,
walked back up to her, and grabbed my coat from her hands.

"Thanks, mum."
I kissed her cheek and walked down to the train station.

My gray coat fully covered my nightgown.
I walked swiftly on the sidewalk to the lonely willow tree.

My feet were freezing and my slippers were soaked, but it was worth laying in the untouched snow.
By the time I left,
my lips were purple,
and my body was numb.

I walked past the shops and stopped infront of the old antique store.
I walked inside and it was strangely warm,
most definitely quieter;
Lucy wasn't there to fill the shop with her lively voice.

The urge to search for the yellow and green rings dug into my skin,
so I walked deeper into the store.
I spotted the strange box they were kept in,
open on the floor, but the rings were missing.

I frowned, realizing I'd never make the it back to Narnia.
I need to find out who Aslan is and why I knew him before reading the book.
I walked out of the shop;
head hung low, but ended up bumping into someone's chest.

"I'm so sorry!"
I quickly said, I looked up and stared at the man before me.
"Don't worry, dear. I'm alright, although it seems you are not." Robin said.

I smiled at the librarian and replied, "Yes, about that, I met the Pevensie children...from your book."
We walked together, while I explained my life over the past few months.
"My, my! You are in quite a situation!"

I frowned,
"Well not anymore, you see, I've broke Edmund's heart and lost contact with Susan and Peter."
Mr.Williams opened his library door, stepping aside for me to come in.
"Well the littlest one—Lucy, was it?— is a tremendous judge of character.
You'll have nothing to worry about in the future! I'm sure of it." He smiled brightly at me.

"Thank you, Robin. Now, what books have they brought in this time?"
I asked,
looking at the crate set beside his desk. I peered down and spotted a red book titled,
The Chronicles of Narnia:
Aslan's Daughter Returns.

The book was quite thin,
but the magic radiating off the book made it sparkle.
I picked it up and skimmed through the first chapter.

My mouth hung open. The small book, suddenly felt heavy in my hands,
so I dropped it.
Robin looked at me, confused and picked up the book,
reading through the chapter, same as I had.

His eyes widened with glee, when he spotted my name written inside.
"My goodness!
You are Aslan's daughter!"
He skimmed through it more and his eyes filled with disbelief,
"my god...your mother is-" he set the book down on his desk and hugged me.

"Y/n, you need to find those rings from the antique store."

"But Mr.Williams,
they're  gone!" I exclaimed.
His eyebrows knitted together, he was deep in thought.
"Well then, if you're Aslan's daughter, I'm sure you'll return!"
I nodded,
eyes glimmering of hope; I grabbed the book and left the library.

I need to find Lucy.

I ran to the café and found Jess.
"Jessie! Where's Lu?"
I said panicky, and out of breath. "You're in luck! She's in the dressing room, she spilled some tea on her cardigan."
I nodded and swiftly ran to the employee dressing room.

"Lu!" I called,
as I burst through the door.
She jumped, turned to me,
and smiled.
"Oh! Hey, Y/n!"
I smiled back, before giving her a hug.

"Read this." I handed her the red book and after a few minutes of reading,
her jaw dropped.
"Holy sh-"

"Language, Lucy!" I interrupted.
"Sorry! Sorry,
I just- Your father is Aslan...and your mother is Jadis?"

My mother is Jadis?
My breathing quickened, why me? What did I do so wrong to deserve this life?
