Jadis' pov

I met a man my age today.
He resembled a lion so wonderfully, lions are my favorite animals.
Lovely mammals, they are.
Anyways, we became friends quickly and I even trusted him enough to show him my abilities.
You see, I was scared out of my old town, my mother was burned alive for having gave birth to me.
As for my father, I never met him,
but I like to think he would be proud of me today.

I'm in love!
Aslan has just told me, he's able to shapeshift—thanks to his friend, Sirius—and he wants to run away with me.
We have planned to elope to someplace called Narnia.
He told me it's where dreams are fulfilled! Maybe we'll be able to build a family,
he'd be an amazing father!

I was making narnian breakfast, thinking of names for the child in my stomach.
I felt a pair of hands rest on my shoulders,
"What are you cooking, my beloved?" I smiled softly, and said, "Oh, just some eggs, toast, and cut up pears."
I couldn't see his yellow eyes and dark lips,
but I knew he was smirking with those shiny glints in his eyes.

"My favorite." He said.
Once I had finished making breakfast,
I made each of us a plate and sat down. "Jadis, I've been thinking."
I looked up at him in concern,
he's usually serious,
but never this serious.

"What wrong, my love? Did I burn the toast too much?"
He frowned,
"No, the food is wonderful. It's just...I didn't want to tell you like this, but my time is up.
A prophecy was made...and we will become enemies because of it."

I dropped my fork and stared into his eyes.
With shock, I said, "What are you saying, Aslan?"
He hesitated, before saying,
"I'm sorry, but we must split apart.
I'm doing this because I love you, Jadis."

My eyes welled with tears and I pleaded, "Please don't go! I would only ever hate you, if you dare leave me!" He frowned,
"If we don't listen to this prophecy, our child may be in danger."
My eyes filled with rage,
as I slammed my hands on the table.

"No! I will not let you do this! I don't care about our child if it means I can't have you!"
He stood up, rage soon filling his eyes, as mine had.
"How dare you! This is our successor we are discussing!
How could you be so cruel, so heartless?" He yelled.

My brows furrowed, "I hate you. If you wanted me to be the bad guy...all you had to do was ask!" I yelled.

"Jadis, if I betray the creators of Narnia, I betray Narnia itself!
Narnia is very dear to me."

"Dearer than I?"
I spoke in a whisper.
"No. No not dearer than you." He whispered back.

"Then why are you leaving me?"

"You just told me where your liabilities are with our child. I didn't like them."
He walked over to our bedroom, grabbed a few of his things,
and before leaving said,
"If you kill my child, I will kill you."
With that, the man I used to love left.

Ugh!
How could he do this to me? After all he put me through?
And it's all because he loves the child more than I!

I snuck through the forest,
my icy cape flowing through the dark wind. A monster laid in my basket,
as I carried it through another world.

I set it beside a small house on a small hill, knocked on the door,
and used the stairway in the woods to arrive back to my ice castle.

Finally,
I can live without having to take care of that little dunce!
Now I can focus on my revenge.

Y/n's pov

Present day

"I can't believe my mother is the white witch. Which means my mum,"
I paused,
"isn't my actually mum."

Lucy hugged me dearly, empathized with me.
"It'll be alright, Y/n. I won't tell a soul, until you're ready."
I smiled, "Thanks, Lu. I really appreciate it."
She nodded, grabbed my hand,
and lead me out to one of the café tables.

"Hey Jess! Could we get two chamomile teas?
With cake, of course." Lucy asked.

Jess looked towards us and smiled, "Sure thing, Lucy." She filled out the order, before giving it to her coworker. Lucy leaned over the table and whispered,
"Let's cause some mischief."
She wiggled her eyebrows and I laughed.

"Lucy! You stop it!" I replied jokingly. "Ooh, how about we have a staring contest?"
I smirked, "Be prepared to lose, sweetie. I am excellent at staring contests!"
She giggled silently, "Well Madame
Y/n, we will just have to test that!"

And with those words, the battle of dry eyes began.
After about twenty seconds,
Lucy gave up and I remained unbeaten in staring contests.

We sat in silence until I spoke,
"Lucy?" She hummed in response.
"How's Edmund?" I asked, a glimmer of hope shining in my heart.
Her once happy face turned dark and sad, "You don't want me to answer that."

We sat in a long awkward silence again, before I asked,
"Will you tell me? Please?"
Lucy sighed,
"He...he spends a lot more time to himself. Before you met him he was always rude, and I'm afraid he's gone back to that state of mind.
Late at night, I hear him crying through the thin walls and sometimes I can even hear him calling out your name."

I looked down in shame. I said,
"I had to do it, you know. If I hadn't, I would've hurt him worse. He needs to move on."
I watched Lucy's face contort with anger.
"Y/n, don't think what you did to him was selfless. You broke his heart and your own in the process, might I add. What you've done...has ruined both your lives." She pressed.

Before I could answer,
Jess walked over with a tray holding our tea and cake.
She gently set them down and said, "Enjoy," before rushing off to another customer.
"Lucy, you really don't understand. I can't let him love me!"

Her eyes watered and she accidentally yelled,
"Why not?" Her voice cracked,
Lucy's hands were slammed down on the table and half the people in the café—including Jess—looked over at us.

I pulled Lucy back down by her shoulders and whispered,
"Mum once told me, we accept the love we think we deserve."
Once she calmed down, she shook her head in confusion,
"But I thought you hated being single?"

"I do, but Edmund deserves better, and I deserve less." I replied.
"I'm sorry, Y/n. I know this isn't easy for you." Lucy spoke lightly,
I could tell she wasn't in the mood to argue further.

"It's alright, Lu. You know I'll always forgive you." I smiled.

Author's note
Sorry guys, but I had to add that song in. It matches Jadis' and Aslan's love story so well. 🤭
