Chapter 25- Missing You, Missing Them

Edmund's pov

I always wondered why C.S. Lewis started that chapter with a poem.
He hasn't done it with any of his other works, so it's quite strange.
'Maybe I'm a little jealous of Y/n.' I smile at my thoughts and I close the book with a sigh, setting it on the nightstand.

The nurse was switching out Y/n's empty blood bag with a full one.
She smiled as she hooked it to the IV stand. "That was an interesting story. This girl has been through quite a lot, hasn't she?"
I frowned, staring at Y/n's weak hand that I hold.
It was cold and her skin was drained of color, revealing a pattern of her veins on her skin. "She's been through too much. It's terrifying." I replied.

I'm just thankful Rowan is being expelled. He was put in the villain's infirmary, and unfortunately,
he's going to be okay.

The nurse then added a second bag filled with blended food. It connected to Y/n's nasogastric tube, which goes up her nostril and leads down to her stomach. "It's hard to believe she lost almost forty percent of her blood. Thankfully, this is one of the last blood bags she'll need." I nodded.
I didn't want to be rude to her, but I wasn't in the mood to speak to her. I didn't want to talk to anyone.

I headed back to my dorm after visiting hours ended. I hated leaving Y/n, but I couldn't risk getting into trouble and being prevented from seeing her while she heals.
I opened the door to my dorm to see Remus drawing on Brian's face as he slept, while Edwin was hunched over at his desk, frustration apparent on his face.

I walked in, chuckling as Edwin cursed at his homework in sign.
Remus called me over and whispered, "Hey, help me out. What else should I draw?" I hummed in response, looking over Brian's face.
As of right now, he had a monocle and a mustache. "He definitely needs a unibrow,"
Remus immediately started drawing as I continued,
"Perhaps a beard, some eyes, some lipstick and..." I eyed his open mouth as he snored and grinned mischievously, "color his two front teeth."

Remus looked at me with pride and held a hand to his heart, faking a sob. "You've learned so much from me."
I rolled my eyes and changed into my pajamas. "Actually, I was spoiled rotten when I was younger."
Remus finished giving sleeping beauty his makeover and sat on my bed.

"So, I found the picture."
I sat with him. "What picture?"
Remus smiled and reached for the ground and into his jacket pocket.
He pulled out a photo of a boy our age. "The picture of Sirius! You know, the guy I like back at home?"
I swiftly grabbed the photo from his hands. My eyes widened as I looked over the boys features.

"You never told me he had long hair!" Remus chuckled and shrugged, happily taking the picture from my hands and laying it on his desk.
"I find that very hard to believe because that's my favorite thing about him." He replied smugly.
"Hey, did you hear about the new students?"

"You mean there's more than one? I met one of them earlier." I questioned as he lied back on my bed.
"Yeah, there's two sisters and two guys. I think the girls are the daughters of the Good Witch and
the Wizard of Oz." 
I hummed in response.
"Which one did you meet?" He looked at me, with his nosy look.

"I met one of the girls, Mable, I think her name was." He smirked and said, "Was she hot?" I glared at him and shoved him off my bed.
"The girl was fourteen! You cant say that!" He groaned and sat up, rubbing the back of his head.
"How was i supposed to know that!" He sat back down on my bed with a huff and pushed me slightly.

"I thought you were a homosexual anyways?" Remus burst out into laughter, "What, no! Eddie, I'm bisexual!" He said in between laughs. I furrowed my eyebrows and said, "What's that?" Remus continued to wheeze, making Edwin look at us. Brian woke up and glided his tongue across his teeth, getting grossed out by the taste of marker. I chuckled.

"Bisexual is where you like boys and girls, Eddie." Remus said after finally calming down.
Brian furrowed his brows. "What are you two discussing?" He carefully wiped his front teeth and braces off. "And what on Earth is on my braces?"

"Shut up, geek. But yeah, I'd like to know too." An unknown voice spoke.
A boy with short blond hair and brown eyes stood at the door.
His frame was slim, but he was quite tall. "Newt? What are you doing here?" Brian asked.
Edwin shrunk back in his chair as Newt stormed past us and towards him.

"How do you know this guy, Brian?" I asked. Newt grabbed hold of the mute boy's shirt and said, "You finish my papers?" Edwin's eyes widened and his hands moved frantically to sign, "Almost, I swear!" Newt groaned in annoyance, rolling his eyes.
I stood out of anger, "Why are you bossing him around? You know, you could've just asked him nicely."

"I'm a future villain. What do you expect?" He let go of Edwin and faced me completely. Silent glares filled the room and the boys watched us in anticipation. Newt groaned once more. "Whatever. I don't have time for this." He sauntered out past the four of us and before he left said,
"It's sad that you are the new heroes...especially you, brother." Then he left.

'especially you, brother.' Oh. I looked towards Brian, connecting the dots immediately.
"Seriously? He is your brother?" I looked at Brian with surprise. He nodded shamefully, drawing his tongue across his orthodontia awkwardly. It's a habit of his unfortunately.

Remus comforted Brian and Edwin, saying nothing, while I enjoyed the scene that spread out in front of me. Remus rubbed Brian's shoulder gently while Edwin put his head on Remus' shoulder. "Get over here, dummy." Remus smiled at me.
"You guys are so weird." I rolled my eyes, but sat beside them.
Laying my arm across Edwin's shoulders, I realized how much I missed my siblings.

Edwin and Brian's intelligence reminded me of Susan, Remus' smile reminded me of Lucy and Peter's warm hearts, and them all together reminded me of that warm feeling of home. That feeling I only get around my family, Narnia, Y/n...and now, I get to enjoy that feeling with these blokes.
