Y/n's pov

The second wave was beginning.
I stood in the circle across from a familiar curly-headed blonde.
A malicious smirk laid across his lips as Agatha started our match.
The two of us ran to our respective weapon racks.
I eyed all the dangerous tools, deciding on two small silver bracelets.

I swiftly clamped them on my wrists and sharp pain shot up my arms.
I bit my lower lip, breathing roughly through my nose.
The sensation was electrical.
I ran back to the circle, fists clenched as I examined Rowan's choose of weaponry.
He held a large flail, 'It's fully metal.' I noted.

He charged at me, a new found anger in his eyes. My eyes widened in shock as I shortly dodged the flail swinging towards my head.
Our eyes met, mine filled with betrayal, his filled with pure rage.
"Rowan." My voice surprised me; it was barely audible.
The crowd had grown silent at the intensity of the arena.

I slid past him to the opposite end of the arena, 'If I'm going to win. I need to avoid being arms length of him.'
I nodded to myself before lifting my arms. A tension of electricity released from my palms and stabbed at the sky, creating shrieks from the audience.
I glared at the boy through watery eyes, but he had no struggle in returning it. I walked towards him towards him, stopping short in the middle of the circle.

Rowan stood at the edge, seeming ready to charge again. I lifted my arms slowly,
I wanted to taunt him.
The feeling of energy surged through my veins; it flowed throughout my entire body and my vision became brighter.
My feet lifted from the ground as I felt my hair lift from my neck.
I was thankful for being given more comfortable outfits before the second wave or else I wouldn't have picked such a risky weapon.

Now, I wore a red tight jumpsuit. It reminded me of race car drivers.
I closed my eyes, lifting my head as lightning crashed down onto the circle.
I heard Rowan cry out in pain and opened my eyes.
His flail laid on the ground, sparks of light twitched around it. He ran back to his weapons, holding his twitching arm.

I took my chance to grab a less harmful tool. I unclamped the bracelet, freeing my wrists and my eyes immediately landed on a pair of earmuffs.
I grabbed them and ran back to the arena. Rowan chuckled, "What are you going to do with those?"

I looked down at them, faked a frown, then put them on.
"Oh, I thought they were my handcuffs." I yelled, smiling innocently at the blonde.
He rolled his eyes, ignoring my joke.
"Earmuffs won't prevent you from hearing your own screams, hun." Rowan yelled, sauntering towards me slowly.
I smirked at him and lifted my hands out, levitating my body in the cool air.

Edmund's pov

Y/n is floating. Without the bracelets.

I watched the scene unfold before me as Rowan ran towards her.
Before he could get close enough to hurt her with the double-sided axe he had, Y/n let out an ear-piercing scream.
It sounded so fascinating, not human-like whatsoever.

Everyone covered their ears and Rowan was sent flying back.
He landed on his back outside of the circle and Y/n's eyes turned a glowing black.
Opposite of when she used the electrical bracelets, in which her eyes glowed white. Her hair glistened in the sky, although there was no sun in sight.
She looked like a goddess, and it seemed every other guy felt the same way as she spoke.

"Rowan. Rowan, forfeit for me." Her voice sounded reflective, seductive.
"Veronica? Veronica, I'll do whatever you please, my love!"
He stumbled out of the circle and shouted how much he loved "Veronica," and Y/n giggled as he forfeit.

I watched as her dangling feet gracefully touched the ground and her eyes turn back to their original color.
In that moment, every man gawking at her looked about in confusion. My eyes stayed glued to her.
"Hey, Romeo! Quit drooling over my best friend!" Eden jabbed her elbow into my ribs. "Ouch! Eden, I don't like her in that way!" I responded.

Edwin gave me an all knowing look, instantly interrupted by Eden putting her arm around his shoulder.
I smirked as blushed and started signing to her. Viktor patted me on the shoulder, "Don't lie to yourself, Eddie!" I sighed at the nickname and shrugged his arm off my shoulder.

Eden rolled her eyes, "As if you, Edwin, and every other man weren't drooling over her too!" Vik yelped as his twin smacked the back of his head.
Edwin shook his head an hands fast, a guilty look on his face. I smiled at the three before turning my gaze to the next match. Evie and Henry were out. Eden and Viktor visibly tensed. Edwin and I confused.

"What's up with you two?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.
"Oh um, it's just Marie's brother is aggressive at times." Viktor mumbled. Marie glared at the boy, "Shut up, Viktorian Kingsley Campbell!"
Viktor gasped while Eden, Connie, and I laughed, Edwin smirked.
"How dare you say my full name!" Marie stood. "I said shut—"

"Both of you's be quiet! I'm tryin' to watch!" A red-headed boy hollered at the two in a Scottish accent.
Marie sat down with a huff, and as I looked back to the field, the match had already ended.
Evie was limping and holding her arm while walking back to the armory.
Henry was shouting at her as he was held back by two school guards.

Everyone silently watched as he was dragged away from the arena.
He screamed at the guards and started to sob. "Let go of me! She deserved what she got! She insulted my family!"
His voice broke and tears pulled to my eyes. I blinked them away.
Marie, on the other hand, was letting her tears slip as she watched her brother, knowing his punishment would be harsh.
"They're going to take him to the dungeon."
She spoke barely above a whisper.

Connie rubbed Marie's shoulders, staring at the ground.
"I'm sorry, Marie. I wish we could help him." Eden said, her tone was solemn. Next to Eden, Edwin was crying like Marie while Viktor comforted him as Eden rubbed his back.

I stood up, walking away from the conversation. It didn't seem right for me to hear all of this; I'm not very close with Marie and it was her business.
I walked down the steps that lead outside the quidditch field and waited for the contestants to leave out the back of the armory.

The sun was setting by the time the trial ended and everyone but the contestants, headmistresses, and I were left.
Staring at my feet, my arms were crossed.
I was leaning against the wall outside of the arena.
Suddenly, a pair of black heels were in front of my black boots.
I looked up to meet eyes with Y/n.

The sunset made her eyes sparkle and her lips look softer. "Hey, Y/n."
She smiled, "Hi, Edmund. What are you doing out here?"
Her eyes were full of hope, I couldn't help but move the strand of hair hovering her eyelashes.
Her smile grew, causing her eyes to squint slightly.

'How beautiful...'

My thoughts made my cheeks warm and I hoped I wasn't turning red.
"I waited for you. I have something to show you."
She gasped in excitement, "Really? Well, come on let's go then!" I laughed at her ecstatic bounce in each step she took.
She held my hand as I walked backwards, leading her inside the school and through the empty halls.

She hummed a tune and it warmed the atmosphere, brightening the candlelit halls. I turned towards the hall we were walking down and began to run.
She laughed and ran behind me, our fingers still entwined.
We stopped and I walked to the wall on our left.
"We're here!" I smiled at the confused girl. "But, there's nothing here."
My smile turned into a smirk.
I leaned against the "wall" and fell backwards.

"Edmund!"
