Evie's pov

As Y/n was rushed to the infirmary, we were forced to turn in our weapons.
After they were all turned in, Sophie burst into rage. "Where is Captain's hook and Merida's bow!" She snapped.
Agatha, who was also upset, patted Sophie gently on the back.
The witch suddenly spoke, "One of those dead boys have them. Henry." She said, all three of her eyes stared into her crystal ball.
Her third eye was glowing a bright purple.

Yuba caught Sophie, who had fainted.
The teachers were frantic. 'How funny.'
I giggled. A smirk played at my lips as the beauty teacher fanned herself while panting. "Everyone, please Head off to your dormitories." Agatha announced.
And so, we did. I walked next to Hattie and Imogene.
"So, Imogene, is it?" She nodded, smiled slightly, and seemed to avoid my gaze.

"How di't feel to hold the one and only Excaliba?" Imogene cringed slightly at my prominent accent.
Hattie's eyes beamed at the mention of the legendary sword, and a wide toothy grin replaced his frown.
Imogene eyed the grass in front of us, "It was...nice." I faked a smirk at her.
'Why is she so upset?'

I jabbed my elbow into her side, "Aw, come on, Genie! Losin' up, would ya?"
She leaned away from me and finally looked at me. "Sorry. I was just," She paused and chewed at her lip, "thinking." Hattie looked at her with curiosity. "Ooh! And to what am you are a thinking for?" He said quickly, putting his face close to hers.

Her eyes widened and she moved her head back. "Uh, what?" Hattie sulked.
"Don't mind 'im! He's just speakin' Riddlish!" She blinked, glancing between the two of us. "What he said was," I stood up straight, ready to give a performance, "And what are you thinking of?" I held my hand out, my other rested on my chest. Imogene and Hattie giggled.
"I was thinking of my friend. I'm worried about her." I nodded.

The redhead girl continued, "She's been more angry with me ever since I was forced into the Omen Trials." Hattie furrowed his eyebrows, his hat shaded his face.
"Curiouser and curiouser."
He seemed to be in deep thought as he ran his tongue back and forth, over the gap between his front teeth.

"Who is this friend?" I eyed her. 'Could it be?'
"Veronica." I smirked. "So I was right," Imogene looked at me with a confused gaze,"you like her." Her eyes changed her poker face ever so slightly. "Oh."
My lips parted. I stopped dead in my tracks, making them stop too.
"You love her." She sighed, "I don't know what you're talking about." She then walked off, and into the entrance of the castle.

Edmund's pov

It's been two days since Y/n passed out.
The nurse had explained to me that she was in a coma and had lost a lot of blood.
The arrows Margaret was given had long, thin points and can puncture deep within flesh.
The arrow cut open her liver.
She was lucky to be alive.

Now, I hold Y/n's hand while she lies limp on her infirmary bed. Eden and her other friends came to drop off flowers earlier, but soon left, saying how "I deserve to be alone with her."
I'm not so sure I'm actually fond of that idea, because really it's just me, alone. And I don't like being alone.

The rain from last night has begun to drop down on us once again. The sound of its pitter-patter calmed me, and I could only wish that the rain would stay forever so I could smell its fresh musk. I sighed and got up from my chair. Moving towards the window beside Y/n's bed, I opened it and breathed in the sky's moist air.

'How long do I have to keep waiting for her?'

The question that I desperately wanted answers to tore at my heart. Her voice, her laugh, her smile, and her beautiful eyes clung to my mind and I suddenly knew the answer.
'I will wait for her, for forever. How could I not?' I smiled at my thoughts and returned to her side. Taking her hand in mine, I sat back down.

"Perhaps reading a story might help."
I turned to the sudden voice to be met with two girls. The first was tall.
She had long black hair that matched her upturned eyes and fair skin.
The second was a lot shorter.
She had dark skin, doe-like eyes, and dark brown hair which was tied into two braids.
The shorter one had a very shy demeanor while the second had a poet-like charm.

"Who are you? If you don't mind me asking."
I said, pushing aside the tall girl's suggestion. "Silvia Mae, and this is one of the new transfers, Mable Arduenna." Her voice was monotone, yet strangely calming.
Mable furrowed her eyebrows at me, "You seem familiar...Which book are you in?" I cleared my throat.
"Um, Narnia. I'm King Edmund."

She gasped, seemingly excited.
"Oh my goodness!" She grasped my hand, shaking it quickly. "I've always wanted to meet you and your siblings,"
She then paused and frowned, "Why, where are your sibling, your highness?"
I chuckled, "No need for the formalities, Mable. And my siblings are back at home, for i was chosen as a reader, not as a fairytale successor."

She clapped her hands together, "Oh Silvia, isn't it intriguing!"
Silvia smiled, "Yes, Mable. It is."
Mable's smile faded but her eyes were still full of joy. "We need to leave, do we?" Silvia nods. "Right. Well, goodbye, Edmund!"
She waved as she skipped out of the infirmary, with Silvia walking behind her.

'Maybe reading will help.' I picked up my satchel, pulling out the red book about Y/n's travels in Narnia. I opened it to the chapter I was on. "Alright. Chapter 12, Y/n in the castle walls."
