LENA POV

I see the bad moon a-risin'
I see trouble on the way
I see earthquakes and lightnin'
I see bad times today

Don't go around tonight
Well it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise

I hear hurricanes a-blowin'
I know the end is comin' soon
I fear rivers over flowin'
I hear the voice of rage and ruin

Don't go around tonight
Well it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise, alright

"What are the odds this comes on the radio?" I yell over the loud music as we all were finally on our way to Redding, and Stef and I are singing along to one of our favorite songs in her car. This whole thing is reminding me of our first road trip together that we took with Julius back in '69 to the Creedence Clearwater concert, and the fact that they were playing on the radio right now made it that much more heartfelt.

I giggle watching her dance in the seat her other hand holding mine, for it was 7:30 in the morning, and the air was beautiful after last night's horrible storm. And if I had to admit it, Stef looked so incredibly sexy in her low cut tank that showed off her tattoo and her tight jeans. It was enough to make me want to lose my mind because she had this carefree element about her right now that I had not seen in a very, very long time.

"Fate, sweets! The road knows the songs of our life!"

"SILLY!" I say back laughing as another song of ours begins to play. "What time do you think we will get there?!"

"Mmm, knowing Julius he will want to stop a million fucking times, but we can use that time to check on the babies so maybe around 6. Butttt, I have something for you that might help pass the time sweets. Look in my back seat behind you in my bag."

"Me? What?" I laugh as she looks at me.

"Just look, baby. It was too late to give it to you last night." She says tapping her hand on the steering wheel to the music as I reach to grab her bag placing it on my lap. Peering inside, I see something wrapped in pretty pink paper.

"This?" I pull it out as I feel myself blushing like crazy, for something about Stef has had my heart racing since...I'm not sure when it started again.

"Yup. Open it."

"Stef, you shouldn't have. Really not," I laugh awkwardly as she laughs.

"Babylove, please open it. Please. Don't make me beg, sweetheart."

Shaking my head I gently unwrap it seeing a beautiful black fountain pen that I know for sure wasn't cheap, along with a very nice leather bound sketchbook as I look right at her profile as she quickly looks at me smiling. "The guy at the store said those are nice pens artists like to draw with. I got a bunch of cartridges with it, and he said you can use dip ink too? Not sure what that is, but I thought you would like the sketchbook. You know...if you wanted to draw in Redding. Beats the ones with the paper covers."
