LENA POV

After getting home from that rather elaborate and interesting party Stefanie's over indulgent parents had thrown, I was happy to kick my shoes off and just relax. The whole thing was rather intense and I could have gone without seeing that backstabbing tramp, and I don't mean my ex-wife. But, I refuse to even utter her name and she should be glad she didn't try to speak to me because I most likely had smacked her again. Yes, I was better then that and it was bad enough I already had wanted to kick Jerry in the balls for offering Stef a drink, for how dare he.

Honestly, seeing Stef was always rather jarring if I was honest especially when she was out of her uniform and dressed up a bit. It had been a very long time since I had seen her so dressed up and she really did look nice. Her hair was cut short like I loved it, she had on light makeup, wedge shoes, pants that really showed off her ass and curves, and her blouse, goodness I had envisioned opening a few more buttons despite the fact that her cleavage was already showing. Stef looked sexy to put it mildly and so sexy to the point that I found myself staring at her without her noticing and when she did notice I'd quickly look away and go back to chatting with the kids.

Strangely enough I think at times I sometimes forgot we weren't married anymore and didn't share a life together. It made these kinds of parties and outings strange because we were so use to conversing as a couple and mingling together. This was new territory and Julius told me to suck it up because he was going to start having summer parties, and Gary and Marty as well were talking about having us all up there.

I wasn't sure about going up there since that place just had far to much history plus the fact that Gary and Marty had been rather devastated to learn that Stef and I called it quits. They too kept pushing, even offering another retreat to help us. But we both told them it was over and that was it. Of course, none of them believe it's truly over, but it just is.

Not like it wasn't hard for Stef and I but it seemed our friends were having a harder time than we were in some sense. Most of them were, but I can't say the same for Jerry who turned into a complete and utter asshole. At least I wasn't going out of my way to be an asshole to Tess, even if at times I wanted to punch her in the face, but this guy deliberately serving alcohol on purpose and offering Stef a drink. Seriously, if she had let me I would have beat his ass for that because even if she wasn't my wife anymore I still felt a sense of protectiveness towards her. Especially in terms of that.

Heading into my room I toss my wedge shoes off for my feet were screaming as I hear my doorbell ring. I have no idea who it is because Julius usually bangs on my door like a crazy person and all the kids were with Stef. But tossing on a tank and shorts I quickly head to the front door wondering who the hell it is.

"Stef?" I open the door rather surprised as I see her walking down the porch steps.

"Hey, umm, sorry to bother you," she turns around and laughs awkwardly, still dressed up from the graduation and party and looking better than ever right now. Boy does she ever as I flick on the porch light as the sun is setting.

"Is everything okay? Come in," I open the door as she hesitates and nods as she walks inside my house and clears her throat.

"Everything is fine," she shoves her car keys in her pocket and looks around as I had folded the blankets and stacked the pillows just this morning not wanting to break down my kids "camping site," but knowing a couch would be arriving tomorrow morning.

"Sorry I have nowhere for you to sit. Here," I point over to the stack of pillows as I head over to sit on the stack of blankets, but she hesitates making me turn around.

"Stef?"

"We think Jude left Mr. Elephant here. I meant to tell you earlier. He, ummm, you know how he gets about that," She laughs as she looks around the room, shoving her hands in her pockets again, and I notice for Stef had been the decorator all along, and I was lacking in that department even if I was an artist.
