Cassie stood in front of the mirror, examining the large bruise on her hip from the other night when she pushed Noah away from a car backing up and got hit herself.Just when the scratches are almost done healing, I get a big old bruise on my hip. Just my luck.
She sighed before pulling her shirt on and going downstairs.
For school, she was wearing dark, denim shorts with fishnet leggings underneath, along with a dark red t-shirt with sleeves that went all the way to her elbows, a black semi-see through long sleeve underneath and black combat boots. Her hair was curled and left in a high ponytail with some strands of hair left in front of her face to make it look like she had bangs, which she didn't.
She saw Em eating half a bagel. She gave Cassie the other half, which she happily took. The girls are in a slightly uncomfortable silence before Em spoke up.
"Are you in a cult?"
Cassie choked on her orange juice when Em just randomly asked that kind of question.
"Um, no. Are you?" She answered, wiping some of the residue of orange juice away from her upper lip.
"No, sorry. It's just that..." she paused, hesitating whether to tell Cassie or not. "You've been hanging out with your friends so much that we haven't hung out in like a month. I miss spending time with you Cassie."
Cassie stared at her apologetically and place her hand on top of hers.
"Em, no matter how much I hang out with my friends, you'll always be my one and only true best friend. If you want me to binge watch The Vampire Diaries with you, you know you can just ask me. There's nothing I would love more than to spend more time with you."
Em smiled at Cassie before nodding and going to wash her plate and Cassie's cup of orange juice in the sink.

Just as Cassie was getting off her bike and unbuckling her helmet, Stiles came running towards her.
"Cass, hey."
"Hey Stiles, what's up?"
"My dad told me what happened the other night. Are you okay?"
"Oh yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit bruised that's all."
"Okay. Um, can I walk you to class, since we have the same class."
"I was actually gonna walk Em to class but-"
"No worries, sis," Em chimed in. "Go walk to class with your boyfriend, I'll be fine."
The two practically turned red at her comment.
"Um, we're not-" before she could finish her sentence, Em had walked off to the entrance of the school. "Okay," she pursued her lips before continuing her conversation with Stiles. "Sorry about that, she likes to just assume. So, that walk to class, is it still available?"
Stiles nodded. "Yeah, yeah definitely. We should um go now."
She nodded while smiling politely and walking with him. The duo walked in a comfortable silence. Both of them glancing at each other from time to time. Once they got to class, Cassie sat down on a seat next to Stiles.
Stiles' good mood suddenly disappeared when Scott walked into the classroom. Cassie noticed. Scott sat behind Stiles, noticing as well, and sighed.
"Still not talking to me?"
No response. Cassie rolled her eyes at his childishness.
"Can you at least tell me if she's okay? I mean it's just a bruise, right? Some soft tissue damage? Nothing that big?"
