Stiles had parked a block away from Cassie's house. He kept thinking about what happened with his dad. He felt so guilty. He tried to push those thoughts away and tried to focus on the plan for Jackson tonight, but he couldn't. He kept thinking about what he could do to try and fix it. He kept thinking about how it was all his fault. He kept thinking about how could he be such a bad son to his dad. He pushed those thoughts away when he heard Cassie open the door to the jeep and sat in the passenger's seat."Hey, you ready to do this?"
Cassie almost immediately noticed his expression and knew something was wrong.
"What's happened? What wrong?"
Stiles was a little thrown back at the question, also a bit confused on how she knew something was wrong with him.
"What do you mean?"
She sighed, grabbing his hand and squeezing it comfortingly. "Stiles, I can tell something is wrong. What happened?"
He stayed silent, keeping his gaze on the steering wheel in front of him.
She nodded at his response. "You don't have to talk if you don't want to, but just know that I'm here for you, no matter what. And I always will be."
She released his hand and pulled hers back. He grabbed it, stopping her from moving it away.
He hesitated before telling her what happened. "My dad got fired."
"What?"
"Yeah, he um," he paused to clear his throat to stop his voice from breaking. "Apparently, since I stole a prison van and got a restraining order against the son of one of the most respected attorneys in town, it didn't reflect good on the county."
"Stiles..."
"I just... I feel so guilty, you know? I mean, this is all my fault. It's my fault he got fired."
"Stiles, it's gonna be okay. We'll figure something out. Maybe if we find out who's controlling Jackson and turn that guy in, we give your dad all the credit and he'll become sheriff again."
"You make it sound so easy," he sniffled.
"Nothing's ever easy. But, in the end, when you overcome everything, it's worth it."
He looked at her with tears in his eyes, threatening to spill. He cupped her cheek with his free hand and pressed his lips onto hers. She closed her eyes as she kissed him back. They tilted their heads to deepen the kiss. Cassie moved her free hand to the back of his neck and intertwined her other hand with his.
They pulled away and rested their foreheads against each other while trying to catch their breath.
"Thank you, Cass."
She smiled at him, wiping away the tears on his cheeks that had spilled during their kiss. "You're welcome, Stiles."

After Stiles had picked up Cassie, he picked up Scott as well. They parked behind the building on the warehouse where the rave was located. The three got out of the jeep. Stiles helped Cassie out since she forced to sit in the back seats, again. He gave her a quick peck on her temple before walking to the back of the jeep and opening the trunk.
"You okay?" Scott asked.
Stiles looked back at him, holding the bag of mountain ash in his hands. "Yeah, why?"
"You just didn't say anything the whole way here."
"No, I'm fine. Let's grab the other bag."
"I can't. Remember, Deaton said you have to do it alone."
