After Stiles had told Scott about what happened, he had offered to drive her home which she agreed to with a silent nod.

The whole drive back home, she hasn't said a single word. All she could think about were Peter's words.

How is she by the way- oh wait, she's dead.

She didn't know why his words had gotten to her the way it did. She had moved on from her mother's suicide a while ago. She guessed the reason why it had gotten under her skin was because of the way she found out about her mother's death and has never looked at her mother the same way again.

Eight-year-old Cassie was just coming home from her soccer practice. Her dad nor Charlotte wasn't home. Charlotte was at her lacrosse team's practice while her dad, who had just dropped her off, was driving to work.

"Mom, I'm home!" She shouted, leaving her shoes on the shoe rack. There was no response. Usually her mother would've rushed downstairs and ask her to tell her every detail of what happened at her soccer practice. "Mom?"

She assumed her mother was asleep in her room so she went to check. She walked upstairs as quiet as she could just in case her mother was sleeping. She walked to the end of the hall where her bedroom was and creaked the door opened, although she wished she didn't.

Blood was everywhere. Blood was splattered all over the wall on the right. There was a crimson red stain on the carpet.

But that wasn't even the worst part.

Above the stain of blood, was her mother's lifeless body, with a gun in her left hand.

Cassie's eyes glossed over with tears at the memory. She leaned her head on the window and untucked her hair from behind her ears to hide her face. Tears started spilling out. No matter how much she wanted them to stop, she couldn't control it.

"We're at your house."

She quickly wiped away her tears and went to open the door but was stopped by Stiles' hand.

He noticed her red and puffy eyes and tear stains on her cheeks.

"Hey, what's wrong? Are you okay?"

She sniffled. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine."

He looked at her with concern written all over his face. "No, no you're not."

He leaned over the console and wrapped his arms around Cassie tightly. He let her sob into his shoulder while he held her tightly in her arms.

"Shhh, shhh, it's okay. When you're ready to talk, I'll be here to listen, okay?" She nodded and bit down on her lip to stop her from sobbing any more.

They stayed like that for a few more minutes until they both agreed it was getting kind of uncomfortable and went inside the house. They went inside her room and he helped her sit on the edge of the bed.

They sat in a silence for a few minutes before she broke it.

"Let me guess, you want to know what happened to Kathrine, my mother."

"You don't have to tell me if you're not ready."

"No, I mean someone was bound to find out and it's best if I explain it to you." She took a deep, shaky breath before continuing. "When I was eight years old, my mother committed suicide," she paused. "And I was the one to find her body."

Stiles noticed her shaking hands in her lap and grabbed a hold of them. He nodded at her, gesturing that she can continue.

"Ever since her death, I couldn't see her as the caring and supportive mother she was before that. Whenever I thought of her, all I could think about was her dead, lifeless body. When my dad married Vanessa, that's when things started getting better. And when Peter made that comment earlier, now I can't the image of her body out of my head again."

She licked her dry lips and looked at Stiles to see his reaction. She expected him to be all freaked out that she can't get the image of a dead body out of her head, but he wasn't.

Instead, he pulled her into another hug and rubbed her back up and down.

"I'm sorry this happened to you," he whispered into her ear.

"Trust me, everyone is."
