The two arrived at the formal. Before Cassie could open her door, Stiles sprinted to her side of the jeep and opened the door for her.

"Since when are you such a gentleman?" Cassie teased, getting out of his jeep.

"Since you came into my life," he replied, holding out his arm. She smiled and placed her hand in the space between his upper arm and fore arm. "Ready?"

She shook her head. "No, not really."

He rolled his eyes at her, heading to the school with her by his side anyway.

As they walked to the school, Allison and Jackson passed them.

"Alli! You look so beautiful!"

"Aw, so do you Cassie."

She looked towards Jackson who was standing there as if he were waiting for something.

"Jackson I'm not complimenting you. Especially since there's nothing about you compliment."

"You little-"

"Bye!" She started walking to the school again, pulling Stiles with her.

As soon as they entered the gym, her social anxiety started to kick in. She gulped as Stiles led her to an empty table. He pulled out a chair for her which she sat in. He sat down in the chair beside her.

The two went into an awkward silence. Cassie stared at the crowd of people dancing while Stiles stared at her.

His eyes scanned every feature of her face, not once doubting that they were beautiful.

She sighed as she began to fiddle with the ribbons on her gloves. Stiles saw both Jackson and Allison go on the dance floor. He looked at Cassie who was zoned out and still fiddling with her ribbons.

"Do you want to dance?" He asked.

Her attention went from the floor to him. "I don't dance. I suck at it, so unless you want broken toes by the end of the formal then we should probably just stay here."

"You know what? Let me try again," he said, standing up from his seat. "Cass, get off your cute little ass and dance with me now."

She scoffed at him and shook her head.

"Cass, get up, okay? You're gonna dance with me. I don't care if you're a witch and could probably kill me right here, right now. Cass, you are one of the most smartest and prettiest girls I've ever met. And I know that when you say you're "fine", you're not. I love spending time with you, Cass. I notice the little things that you do that drive me crazy.

Like you play with anything in your hand when you're nervous or bored and that you get flustered whenever someone gives you a compliment and that you're a complete romantic and that you would literally die or kill for the people you love. I know you think that I don't pay attention to you much because nobody else does, but I do, Cass."

She stayed quiet, still processing the words he had said to her before taking in a deep breath.

"Then pay attention to what I'm about to do now." She got up from her seat and took his hand, leading him to the dance floor. As she led them to an empty spot on the dance floor, he fist pumped the air and started mouthing the word "yes" repeatedly.

When they got to the dance floor, the song changed to a slow song. He pulled her to him and wrapped her arms around his neck while he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"I'm warning you, you're gonna walk out this formal with sore toes."

He smiled softly at her, "I don't care."
