Ada sat on his bed and stared out the window, it had been a week since Iye Eghe had died and he had hardly left the house all the while. He had three more days till his project defence and he still didn't know if was okay enough to handle it. He had to, Iye Eghe wouldn't like it if he flunked.

He stood up and walked into his bathroom. He stared at his reflection on the mirror and tried to force a smile, it didn't work, he was a royal mess in more ways than one. He sighed and splashed water on his face. He looked back at his reflection but the only thing that had changed was the presence of water droplets on his face.

"I'll make him pay Iye, I'll make him pay." He muttered gripping the basin with his hands as tears fell into it.

"Bro?" He heard his sister call out from the other side of the door. He wiped his eyes and opened it when he had successfully locked his feelings away.

"Hey sis, how far?" He asked with a fake smile on his face.

She saw through it but spoke nothing of it, "wanna take a drive?"

"Sure, I've been in here long enough," he sighed and walked to his wardrobe, "I've got to get used to seeing other people before I defend my project."

Eghe nodded, "meet me outside when you're ready," she turned around and walked out of his room as he changed into something else.

Ada walked out of his room after changing and walked to the kitchen and pulled a drink from the refrigerator. He hadn't eaten in while. He walked out of the house and made his way down to the car park to meet his sister.

Eghe smiled as her brother walked out of the building. She opened the door to her convertible and got in. She turned it on when he strapped in.

"Anywhere in particular we're going?" Ada asked as he turned to face her.

"Not really, I just wanted to get out of the house for a bit, maybe eat dinner." She said as she drove out of the compound, "how about you?"

"No, I'm cool with just roaming round the city for a little bit," he pushed the button to drop the roof and grinned, "maybe get a little wind in our hairs."

Eghe chuckled and placed an arm on her window sill, "I'm all in bro."

The siblings drove in a comfortable silence disturbed softly by the songs playing out of the radio. Ada smiled softly as the evening breeze flowed around them. Eghe's braids danced in the winds as she drove, she had a broad smile plastered on her face.

Ada smiled softly, he knew everything wasn't fine yet but he had to believe it was all going to turn out alright,"We'll move back home for a while so we can go through her things and see if we can start preparing for the burial.

The two siblings drove Into their family compound in eghe's convertible. She got out of the car and walked to the security guards post, she was going to give him a piece of her mind for sleeping on the job.

Ada shivered as he imagined what she was about to do to the poor man. He was starting to wonder if she actually wasn't just Iye Eghe's child with a cover up. He took a couple steps back as the gate man came running out of his post with Eghe marching menacingly behind him. She looked like a predator stalking her prey, like a wolf or lioness. Ada had been on the receiving end of that glare so many times for him to know what was next. He couldn't help but be grateful he'd finally reached his brown belt now she couldn't fling him around like a rag doll.

She walked back towards Ada with a copy smile as he tried to look behind her for the security man, "where is he Eghe?" He asked and she just shrugged and walked to the car to get her bag.
