5:00 pm twelve hours to Ra's rebirth
Ptah drove in the trailers luxurious cab tugging the cars behind him on the double decked flatbed. The car hauler hummed along the quiet country roads, it always surprised him how it felt so solitary even inside the state. the moment you left Benin it felt like you were travelling to another state rather than a different community. He looked beside him, Cleopatra was still fuming, she decided she wasn't going to talk to him all through the three hour drive. He sighed and continued staring at the road watching the greenery and occasionally group of huts just like he had everytime he'd gone this route for the past month.
"Could you help me radio the rest that were almost there?" He said without looking at her, the last thing he wanted to do was make eye contact, he didn't want to feel more guilty than he already was.
She picked up the broadcaster and engaged it, "get ready Egyptians, Ra enters the snake,"
He smiled, "thank you," he felt reassured that he'd still be able to count on her.
"We're still going to have a long talk when we finish this, and you're going to tell me how you got involved in this and then tell me what's really going on between you too." She glared at him and he finally understood what Thoth was so scared about.
He looked at her and grinned, "yes ma'am."
The sky turned orange and purple as he pulled the car hauler up to the front gates of the large compound. The security guards had tripled since last time, just as they had expected, he was around.
A security guard approached and he brought down his cabs window. "Chairman, I hail ooh. Good evening, how work?" In all honesty he was proud of how well his pidjin sounded, he had been practicing for the last six months and the results were superb.
"Ahh, oga Osas, we dey ooh, you bring any goodies from town?" Ptah knew what he wanted and it made his job so much easier.
He passed a sealed polythene bag to the guard and smiled, "tell my people say I don pour water for ground," both men grinned. The guard motioned for the large gate to be opened.
"See the fine fine cars you bring, you go sell all of them as you don bless us," the guard cried as he gyrated.
Ptah smiled and brought his glass back up. He could care less what the man said in his prayers, he knew they would have made their way in even if they had to tear the gates down.
He drove the car down the paved road to the large warehouse were the cars were off loaded and inspected. Torah was to come check them in the morning.
The large loading doors to the warehouse we're rolled away as he backed the trailer into the large space. He had a broad smile on his face as he finally turned off the engine. They were in.
The management staff gathered around the truck to begin assessing the car conditions and begin the off loading. Ptah got out the car as the loading doors were closed up again. He stretched and watched the locks click into place. He winked at Cleopatra and she picked up the broadcaster. He reached into the cab and pulled out his jade egyptian pharaoh mask and wore it just as the car doors opened up and canisters of sleeping gas flew out immediately dispersing into the air.
"So it actually worked," he chuckled as he watched the staff and guards start falling to the ground five seconds later.
Imhotep jumped on his feet and did a couple of exaggerated bows as he watched his creation excel, he grinned behind his golden faced mask and pulled out his assault rifle from the car he had been waiting in.
"Out like a light," anubis said as he kicked one of the guards on the floor, "awesome work Imhotep, you too Cleopatra and ptah."
Thot chuckled, "I still can't get used to this guy's name, it still sounds like spiting."
