An Hour Later in Jay's POV:

As I sat in his second office, I looked through the glass into the casino. It's the type of windows that you can see out of but no one can see in... it's kinda' cool to see the guests enjoying themselves.

He's on the phone at the moment, but I had to come here to talk to him. It's my off day, but I feel like this couldn't wait. I'm meeting up with Meech after this. He went home to go put his groceries up.

"Most definitely... yea I'll conduct some interviews while I'm there... its three different restaurants instead of two. This is Vegas, I gotta step shit up." I heard him say as I looked down at my fingers.

"Yea, just have me some options ready when I get there. I expect them to cook as well. This won't just be a dry run, I need shit to be full out." He said as he sat down in the chair behind his desk while watching me.

"Ok. I'm there for three days so let's make it count." He said as he hung up the phone.

When he set his iPhone down on the desk, he spoke.

"Beautiful... what's going on? You said you couldn't call or text it." He asked with concern.

I took a deep breath.

"I went grocery shopping with Demetrius this morning after you came to work... I was harassed and questioned." I said as my eyes finally met his.

I could see him getting upset.

He immediately stood to his feet.

"What the hell? By who!?" He asked as his tone elevated.

"The agent" I said as he smacked his lips.

"This bitch man... tell me what happened." He said.

"I ignored her at first. Then, she asked me what you do? I said he is the owner of a hotel and casino... there's nothing else to it. Then, she asked if I was in a rush because Meech was pulling us away from her. He knew I was uncomfortable... I told her I don't talk to the police or trust them on some Black Lives Matter type shit. As Meech finally was able to pull us away, she said she'll be seeing me soon." I said as he ran his hand through his hair.

"Look I just wanted to tell you everything up front and communicate with you cause ion' want you to think I'm hiding anything. I wanna be transparent with you especially when she's questioning me. I didn't tell her anything I promise. You won't have to worry about me talking either." I said as he stood in front of me, but parked on his desk.

"Thank you for notifying me. A reason that you told me all this shit is because you're scared. I get that and I don't blame you. But, you're also afraid of me a little still..." He said as I looked up at him.

A part of that is true. I do know what happens when he finds stuff out... I don't wanna be on the other end of that barrel.

"Babe... I told you I would never hurt you. I'm sorry that she approached you in the fuckin' grocery store. That's bogus as hell. From now on, I'll do a better job of protecting you." He said in a comforting tone.

"Chris I told you I can take care of myself."

"Just let me... I want to. From now on, if you're with me, I don't want you anywhere around the shit I'm dealing. She singled you out so she's seen you before. I don't want you to be a target and plus the shit I'm dealing with is dangerous. You can't be in the room anymore while I'm handling shit. Understood?" He asked as I shook my head yes.

"Plus the less you know, you really won't have any information for any feds." He said as I sighed and dropped my head.

"Look, I don't want you to be scared or worried. They don't have a trace of evidence. It's only a rumor she's running with and she's running outta' options so she's looking into my staff. They don't know shit... just you. So, we're gonna be ok love." He said grabbing my hand and kissing the back of it.
