Chapter 1 *cursing*

      -Timeskip to morning-

Adalynn and Seráe woke up in their separate rooms. Adalynn couldn't help but feel off about the fortune cookies. Adalynn was getting ready for school it was a Tuesday. Seráe got up shortly after Adalynn.

"Oh you got a morning class too?"

Adalynn asks groggily. Seráe nodded

"Yeah. I got this old man professor. That's all I have for today though. When I'm done I'm coming back here to take a fat ass nap."

Seráe says and Adalynn nods.

"Well I have the early morning class and around mid morning, you wanna meet up for lunch somewhere? Or carpool? Or fix something here?"

Adalynn asks and Seráe nodded

"Fix something here. I don't feel like going anywhere today midterms are about to come up."

Seráe says seriously Adalynn nods.

"Alright cool. Midterms are gonna kick my ass ten fold."

Adalynn and Seráe leave for college and got into their cars locking up the house. The drive was a little long since they lived out in the country. Seráes car was a red mustang. While Adalynn drove a Jeep. Once they arrived to school they went to their class.

                        -Timeskip back home-

Seráe went home first. She plopped down her bag onto the recliner. She checked her watch.

"Shit only eight in the morning? Ew. Time to sleep for a little bit."

Seráe says annoyed as she locked the house again and went into her room changing into more comfortable sleepwear then heading back to bed. Meanwhile Adalynn was at school. However Adalynn couldn't really focus, because she was taking a few glances at this beautiful woman. They locked eyes for a little bit before Adalynn looked away. What felt like forever the lecture for Adalynn finally ended. She went home feeling exhausted herself.

                      -Timeskip to later afternoon-

Seráe woke up and she checked her phone.

"Damn. Almost two in the afternoon."

She sighed and she checked in on Adalynn.

"Pfff she's asleep too."

She giggled as she made them both Mac and cheese. Seráe was cooking them lunch as Adalynn woke up. With a huge grin on her face as she went into the kitchen.

"Hey how was class?"

Seráe asks as she had her back turned to Adalynn.

"Pretty good. Just normal school shit."

Adalynn says with a slight smile. Seráe turned her back to her.

"Nahhhh something happened! Here I'll let this simmer for a little it's done but it needs to cool down. What happened?"

Seráe says with a snicker. Adalynn rolls her eyes.

"Hey! What makes you think something happened?!"

She says protesting and Seráe perks a brow.

"Well let's see you're all smiley. You're giggly. You woke up with a smile on your face. And I've known you since kindergarten! So come on spill it!"

She says giggling and Adalynn sighs in defeat.

"Alright you caught me. Nancy and I were looking at each other almost all of lecture. We even locked eyes for a little bit."

Adalynn's face turned beet red with embarrassment. Seráe screams for her in excitement and claps her hands together.

"Finally! Something is actually happening! So, when are you going to ask her out?"

Seráe asks genuinely curious. Adalynn chokes on her soda.

"Wait you're actually serious? I am way too shy to ask her out right now. We aren't even friends yet girl. We need to get to know each other as friends first. But not too close."

Adalynn says gently. Seráe makes a snoring motion.

"Boringggg! It's clear you guys like each other. Just go for it. If she says no, there's plenty of other fine women and men out there for you!"

Seráe says excitedly. Adalynn nods in understanding.

"You do have a point. But I don't want to make her uncomfortable. So I'll try to hang out with her as a friend a few times then I'll pop the question."

Adalynn says confidently. Seráe claps.

"There we go!!! Progress! Progress!"

Seráe pours the Mac and cheese into two bowls.

"Let's save leftovers for dinner. Save money like that."

Adalynn adds and Seráe snaps her fingers.

"I know that's right. Also I have work tonight. So can you handle the place by yourself?"

Seráe teases and Adalynn flips her off.

"Of course I can the fuck do you think I am two?"

Adalynn asks and they snicker. After they ate their food Seráe got ready for work.

"Hey maybe that hot guy will come in today?"

Adalynn teases Seráe.

"Yeah right that's super unlikely."

Adalynn shakes her head.

"No girl I seen y'all flirt. Might as well go hook up or go ask him out."

Adalynn says in the same tone As Seráes from earlier. Mocking her.

"Kiss my ass Adalynn pfff."

She laughed and got her keys.

"Want me to stop by the grocery for anything?"

Seráe asks before heading out. Adalynn shakes her head.

"We'll go on Friday."

Seráe nodded before heading off to work. As she pulled up into work she got her apron on.

"Hopefully this coming winter break won't be boring or bad. I need a break from work and school man fuck."

Seráe says as she got out of her car. Adalynn texted Seráe a 'good luck'! Message before Seráe clocked in. She messages back

'Oh please I'm gonna need it. Hopefully the luck is enough'.

Seráe put her phone away and clocked in. For some reason, both of them had an eerie feeling when they texted and thought of the word. 'Luck.'
