Chapter 17 *mentally recovering, mention of trauma, religon

        -Timeskip at lunch-

Rose and Adalynn went to lunch. Adalynn wanted to talk to Rose about everything.  They ordered their lunch and now they were talking.

"So let me get this straight, you both were on the run after he found you two at the hospital?"

Rose asks in a quiet tone. Adalynn nods.

"He caused all this damage?"

Rose asks again and Adalynn just nods.

"I had no idea this would've happened if I would've known I wouldn't have grabbed that doll."

Rose says quietly. Then Adalynn suddenly remembers.

"It's not your fault. This weird shit didn't start happening until after we read those weird words."

Adalynn says and Rose nods.

"I remember! You and Seráe read those words and everything happened afterwards."

Rose states and Adalynn had an idea.

"What if we read it backwards?"

Adalynn asks and Rose smiled.

"Yes that's a perfect idea. It brought him to life. It can surely put him back to sleep."

Rose says and Adalynn decided to text Seráe about it.

Adalynn: I figured out how to defeat Slappy if he comes back. He was brought to life by that weird card. We both read it and brought him to life. What if we read it backwards? It would have to put him to sleep.

Adalynn sent the text and Seráe read it and rolled her eyes. She wasn't about to fall for this. She didn't believe it. That seems to be too easy. Seráe put her phone down and she managed to get a cross from that church. She continued blessing the house.

"She left me on read."

Adalynn says sighing. Rose frowned.

"Why?"

Rose asks with annoyance and Adalynn spoke.

"We got into an argument on what to do. She feels like we shouldn't be telling you this until it's all over with for sure."

Rose nodded.

"She just doesn't want me in danger like you two have been."

Rose says and Adalynn nods.

"I told her she needs to move on.. but she said how dare I, and she says I am in denial and whatnot. So. Yeah."

Adalynn states and Rose took a deep breath.

"No offense to you or her, however both of you are coping with this really badly. Try to see your guys therapist."

Rose says gently and Adalynn chuckles.

"How am I coping with this bad?"

Adalynn asks offended and Rose sighs.

"Well.. Seráe is kind of right. You're acting completely normal. Too normal for what you two just went through. You're acting like you're in denial. But whatever it is, it isn't healthy."

Rose states gently and Adalynn scoffs.

"You do have a point... but you're gonna act like Seráe is all perfect? Look what she's doing."

Adalynn states and Rose shakes her head.

"No. I never said she is perfect none of us are. She is being very paranoid. But she is having a more normal response. Than you... both of your responses are normal. But she just wants us safe. While you just want life back to normal. However being normal is going to be a hard thing to accomplish for you two.."

Rose says gently and she sighs.

"I'm sorry.. I wish things were easier for you two. Both of you have a right to respond the way you are."

Rose adds and hugs Adalynn.

"Did you two figure out where he came from..?"

Rose asks and Adalynn nods.

"Oh we know where he is from. He isn't from your typical doll shop either."

Adalynn states and Rose perks a brow.

"How..? Where is he from... what is he?"

Rose asks and Adalynn sighs.

"We may need more coffee for this story. Slappy told us both this when we were in the hospital."

Adalynn sighs and starts to talk.

"Basically, Slappy was brought to life by this Sorcerer. He was the closest thing Slappy had to a dad. He carved Slappy from a Vampires coffin, Serial killers coffin, and from an evil emperors coffin. Which explains a lot of his behavior. Slappy showed us that he didn't want to be alive at first. Because not only was Slappy's spirit inhibiting this doll, but those other spirits from the coffins were inhibiting the doll as well. It was too much for Slappy to handle. The sorcerer well his dad basically made Slappy his slave and protector. Eventually after years of abuse, Slappy was slowly but surely losing his sanity and killed his dad. After a huge mob found out about Slappy and his dads secret of doing magic. Slappy took over and that was in the 1800's. So... Slappy has been around for a very long time.."

Adalynn states and Roses jaw was dropped a little.

"You mean to fucking tell me that he is evil because he has daddy issues?!"

Rose screamed and Adalynn shushed her.

"SHHH! Yes! But shhh."

Adalynn scolded her. Rose chuckled.

"If Slappy even had the foggiest idea of how much times have changed for daddy issues. I have mommy and daddy issues but mainly mom. Doesn't mean I go around killing people calling them my slaves."

Rose says and Adalynn nods.

"That's what Seráe basically said."

Adalynn states as they went through a few cups of coffee.

"I need to get back Rose. If Seráe wants to see you I'll let you know."

Adalynn says gently as she left. Rose nodded in understanding.

                 -Timeskip when Adalynn gets home-

Adalynn unlocked the electrical fence and unlocked her house going home. Seráe was asleep on the couch and the cross was in her hands.

"Seems like she blessed the whole house?"

Adalynn asks to herself.

"Well.. hope she didn't waste her time on this."

Adalynn states gently as she put a blanket over Seráe. Letting her rest. Adalynn genuinely thought Seráe was just wasting time with blessing the whole house. However it was the complete opposite..
