Queen for a Day is the tenth episode of Tangled: The Series. In this episode, Rapunzel is left in charge of Corona while her parents go on vacation. She decides to organize a ceremony to honor the citizens who have done good deeds for their community. However, things quickly spiral out of control when she gets carried away with her newfound power.
FADE IN:
In the Corona Castle.
Rapunzel stands nervously in front of her parents, King Frederic and Queen Arianna.
Rapunzel: Don't worry about a thing, Mom and Dad. I've got everything under control.
KING FREDERIC: We know you do, dear. That's why we're leaving you in charge while we're away.
QUEEN ARIANNA: Just remember to listen to your advisors, and don't make any hasty decisions.
RAPUNZEL: I won't let you down!
CUT TO:
EXT. CORONA SQUARE - DAY
Rapunzel stands on a platform in front of a large crowd of citizens.
RAPUNZEL:
Welcome, everyone! Today, we are here to honor the unsung heroes of our city.
The citizens cheer as Rapunzel hands out medals and awards to various individuals.
CITIZEN 1:
Thank you so much, Your Highness! This means the world to me!
CITIZEN 2:
I never thought anyone would notice my hard work. Thank you!
As the ceremony continues, Rapunzel becomes more and more intoxicated with her power.
RAPUNZEL:
And now, I declare today an official holiday! Everyone can take the day off from work!
The citizens cheer wildly as Rapunzel basks in their adoration.
CUT TO:
INT. CORONA CASTLE - NIGHT
Rapunzel sits at her desk, surrounded by piles of paperwork and documents.
RAPUNZEL (to herself):
What have I done? I was so focused on being queen for a day that I forgot about my responsibilities to my people.
Suddenly, there's a knock at the door.
VOICE (off-screen):
Your Highness? We need your help!
Rapunzel springs into action, ready to make amends for her mistakes.
FADE IN:
INT. Y/N'S ROOM - DAY
Y/n and Lance sit on opposite sides of the room, discussing their plans for Rapunzel's temporary reign.
Y/N:
So since Rapunzel is going to be queen for a day, I figured I might as well appoint myself as temporary king.
LANCE:
(laughing) And what exactly does that entail?
Y/N:
Well, first things first, I'll enjoy some luxuries. Maybe a nice bath or two, some fancy food...you know, the usual king stuff.
LANCE:
(smiling) Of course, your majesty. And then what?
Y/N:
Then, I'll make some proclamations. Maybe declare a new holiday or two. Make some changes around here.
LANCE:
(amused) You're really eager to take on this role, huh?
Y/N:
(grinning) Why not? It's not every day you get to be king.
